However, I contend the way music has been approached by most all DCI corps over the past decade or so would be described in this manner. It has become more and more rare to hear transcriptions and creative arrangements faithful to the intent of the original composer. Most music in modern corps shows merely borrow from various sources, then chop, cut, and piece together,typically based on visual dictates, which in turn creates new material that no longer treats the chart as an arrangement but becomes a new composition based on some outside influences. The designers of most corps at least have enough respect to acknowledge the genesis of their source material. And if that does not satisfy your inquisitive mind then contact Theodore Presser Publishing Company, who owns the Copyright, and talk to them about why credit is not being given.
