Hrothgar15
Any way I can purchase or download high-quality audio recordings of this season's shows while it's in progress? I remember being able to this in 2005, but can't figure out a way now. Thanks in advance! Edited July 28, 2017 by Hrothgar15

Drag file into iTunes. Super easy. Edited July 28, 2017 by henry7184

Hrothgar15
It's possible that it's a conscious decision on DCI's part, to basically explicitly assure that the shows are not designed to be just listed to as audio. A lot of the show designs honestly don't work that way anymore; it's accepted that the music can take a backseat to the drill or theme (the music nowadays is mostly "used" rather than "presented"). So I guess it does make less sense to offer audio recordings than it did in 2005. But there are shows like Bluecoats this year that have a perfectly good '90s-style music book that I'd love to jam to over headphones.

Securing the rights for digital downloads is expensive, given the scale of music used in DCI. That's why the DVD at the end of the season is limited now.

I downloaded BDs show from the Denver show that someone posted on YouTube. It actually sounds pretty good.

If you absolutely can't wait for the video at championships, the nice folks at the Instant Video tent will be glad to help you out. Now I'm going to check the scores by calling 1-900-CAN-DRUM.
