Fran Haring
Just like to say "thank you" to anyone who stopped by to watch the Crossmen Alumni and Friends Play in the Park Project corps at the DCI SoundSport venue Saturday in Allentown!!! All of us involved in the project had a lot of fun with this whole thing, and are proud we had the opportunity to 1) perform for the Crossmen competition corps and 2) raise some money toward the purchase of the corps' new equipment vehicle.
ironlips
Soundsport is the hippest thing DCI has put together since the Tour of Champions concept. It promotes drum corps at it's roots level and shows the organization's commitment to the future. I had the good fortune to judge the Soundsport show at Indy last year. It was an absolute blast. If you have not enjoyed this, put it on your "must see list".

Sonus Brass Theater and Mon Valley Express... both had some really good stuff going on. Crowd enjoyed them!!! The Crossmen Play in the Park performance was an exhibition in conjunction with the Crossmen Hall of Fame induction ceremony, and with the members of the 2017 Crossmen in attendance. 50-plus brass, good-sized drum line (around 8,9 snares or so, etc.) and color guard... and two iconic Crossmen tunes, "Under the Sun" (from the 1992 show, arranged by Matt Krempasky and Mark Thurston) and "Russian Christmas Music" (the 1977 Mike Dennis arrangement). Biased here a bit, I admit... LOL... but the fans loved it!!! Edited August 7, 2017 by Fran Haring
