eightyonepointthree
Are the vocal soloists in Crown and BAC really singing? If so, I am impressed...but unfortunately they sound too similar each performance. Cavaliers having taped solos in "Run boy run" and their ballad last year (the full ensemble) have made me skeptical about the whole vocal thing. It needs to be live for me to enjoy it. Old Corps Guy
This is a conversation I have been having for quite some time. Live drum corps should be "LIVE" and not recorded. I am both a professional bass trombonist and a professional vocalist. I also serve as a music director in both formats. Drum Corps is "Big, Loud & LIVE" according to the DCI/Fathom Events Promo today. The music should be "LIVE" as well and not a recording. Sampling has always been a sore spot for me. Jeff Ream
Bostons young lady most definitely sings
shawn craig
Colts singing seems to be prerecorded. At least I never noticed a live singer on the field. Cadets have their choir of 8 who are singing live.
afd
I thought the vocals in BD's show in 2005 was a recording because it sounded the same each time. Nope....he was doing the vocals each show. He was the DJ in Dance Derby.

Yes the BAC girl sings. AND she spins as well! Just listen to the Keith Potter interview here discussing this very thing... https://marchingartseducation.com/courses/keith-potter-on-boston-crusaders-wicked-games/
Old Corps Guy
Don't forget the Pioneer soloist is singing live as well. I understand she also won I&E Vocal soloist. Several medals for Pioneer this year in I&E. Good for them. Edited August 10, 2017 by Old Corps Guy
Cadevilina Crown
Anybody know whether Cavaliers' My Way vocals are live or prerecorded? Only reason I ask is because they don't sound at all like Sinatra, but they're the same every time.
tedrick
BAC singer needs to communicate with the audience tonight!!! I would love a little impromptu, "hmmmmmmm"-ing type vocalizing to just show us that yep, this is live.
