2017 World Championships Finals - Aug 12

Recommended Posts

this happened to RCC at wgi dayton a couple years ago.  all the extra people in there with their cell phones on wiped out the wifi in the electronics.  luckily, pulse figured this out earlier in the season and went WIRED with no  problems.  maybe crown didn't hear about this?

If corps are going to incorporate/depend on electronics, it should be considered in the judging.  This can help, or in this case, devastate a show.  Wake up call, maybe?

Can they dub in prelims for the mic, and have the rest of the corps' better finals run be on the dvd? Just wondering.

Yes. Well, maybe. Depends on whether they mic'd the soloists separately.

Poor girl, she's already gotten so much criticism......that should not have happened to her.

She moves around too much to use a wired mic.

And the movement seemed to be part of the issue with the cutting out. BD's amazing mello solo last year eventually had her stand on the rotating prop rather than sit as the rotation seemed to cause a cut out issue.

It is you.

It was incredibly tight from week one in Massilon to last week in Massilon.  Fugue is one reason why Crown has been top brass all year.

Trumpets always feel a bit uncertain after the mellos come in.  Feels like they are still trying to be the dominate voice and play under the mellos at the same time...it's just an odd section for me.

This. If a brass soloist, a trumpet, for example, had mic issues, they can play louder and still be heard. A singer? No chance.

I feel bad for the performer. I am angry at the staff. The corps should succeed or fail on the execution of the performers. This was not that. There was absolutely NOTHING she did wrong, and the failure was due to a risk in design. The corps chances of success are taken out of their hands when you involve electronic amplification.

On the official recordings, will they use the prelims performance for the second half of the show?
