Cadets 2018

Credit must go to all the Corps for their ability to make sure that even oxygen itself does not leak out on its own from all these Corps camp auditions.

 Homeland Security take note.

Before continuing to read this post, DCP Dinos will want to get out their horns, flex their fingers, and be ready with a chair just in case the legs aren't yet in shape.

No, Harrison NY is in Westchester county NY ( suburb of NYC) and is a pretty wealthy enclave. The band director at this school marched Bush in the early 2000's and is involved with the Brassmen parade corps now. They have a REALLY great music program at this school, great jazz band, concert band and choirs but they don't compete on a regular basis or not at all. Not all great music programs are dependent on holding a baritone properly or playing a quad lick clean. They have a large band, supported well by the parents and the school but it's just a small part of a really great music program. The great composer Steve Melillo taught at this school in the early 80's and today's band director was a student of his.

These kids get a great education!

please don't take my comment as a put down to the school. It's not. I came from a non competitive background in HS despite my being around corps from birth. I just meant it to say the precision we get all snobby about on the littlest things may not be getting serious attention to detail at this school. Not that it's a bad thing...they just have different priorities.

LOL... for whatever reason, I thought of Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis when I read this.

"Guys, you won't cut it in this drum corps if you don't work on your horn carriage!!!"   :8_laughing:

Well, Cadets schedule is announced and sadly they won't be seen in the U.S. (13 colonies) until the Atlanta show it seems.

Franklin Field show in Philly has some nice entries but not all that we would expect. That's left for the Clifton show with low and limited seating. Competition will be for which stadium has worse parking, Philly or Clifton.

Second tour should be nice, once DCI finds those 500pages not found.

While it may be a while before we see Cadets live on the East Coast, I know Owen is looking forward to that West Coast half of the tour.

M-I-C. K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-E (the original), San Fran, and Pacific Northwest before crossing the Continental Divide.

Now is it true that they'll be jetting from Ada to Cali???  With all GH's frequent flier miles, I'm sure he can cover it for all, ha, ha.
