"Penn" is the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, an Ivy league institution. "Penn State" is the Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA next to State College, PA, in Central PA up in the boonies. Big Ten, etc. ad nauseaum. No biggie, they get confused all of the time much to the chagrin of Penn Alumni.

Of what exactly are they afraid? The current mm who would be at their facility? The fans? Who poses the risk? What are they afraid of? Their large army of well-off and successful Alumni who support the University getting honked off in part.

The risk is being associated with an organization, that until a month ago, was being run by a pervert that assaults women. They are being cautious. They also did not rule out any future shows, just currently planned rental of their facilities.

If something happened on the campus and they knew they were aware of the issues, a lawyer could make a connection. 1

Given the political climate, it’s standard operating procedure to distance learning institutions from all instances of impropriety and alleged criminal behavior. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but thirty years of abuse and cover-up cannot be erased with two months worth of record. The corps is off to a good start, but it’s going to be years before its reputation has been repaired.

Well, Penn may feel the need to deflect a bit since it took them until 6 weeks ago to get around to making it against the rules for faculty and students to have sex. How was this OK before? http://www.thedp.com/article/2018/03/pritchett-provost-consensual-sex-policy-faculty-undergraduates-ivy-league-shift-upenn-philadelphia
