Cadets 2018

The source music actually ends with a brief epilogue with a very quiet finish after the rousing parts... drill condensing down into the “prayer block” would be a fitting ending given the circumstances and the show theme

If the corps enters the field down the 50 in the traditional Cadets block entrance of the years of greatness, your  suggestion for the closer would be "framing." Judges like that.

But drill writing by committee usually doesn't work. Since we haven't heard the final arrangement, all this discussion is moot but expressive of better and great hopes for 2018. Have a great Spring Training.

here's Ballet Sacra - the portion used by the 93 Cadets - lends itself to a rousing finish ala Cadets most successful years

AND at the end - the very quiet 30 second or so epilogue that could be the corps folding down into a prayer block to end the program after an applause hold:

Cadets 1993 version - that GUARD was unreal

Miss seeing drill like that!  Now THAT's visual design.

Blind link ups, constant reshapes, high tempos.  That's huge demand... all while playing incredibly well.

What Cadet's guard needs is some personality - look at their Championship level guards (see video above) and all the current top guards, and they all have abundant amounts of 'personality'. It is not good enough just to spin and dance in time, you need something extra that helps bring the show to life (think SCV last year, Carolina Crown and BD most years).

YES...Look at 1995 Cadets guard. They were so good at interpretation of that show. Also in 2005 and 2011. But the 1995 show just stands out IMO.

Agreed.  1995 was a good year.  High energy, high emotion guard.  That show lent itself well to their success, and the guard rose to it.  Recent Cadet shows would be challenging for any guard to hone in on (and nail) the interpretation/emotion.
