The choreographer comes from a ballet background, which is fitting for this show. There is not a lot of 'stuff' on stage. We went backstage and spoke with one of the cast members after the show. He told us the choreographer kept asking the director to move or get rid of various pieces of the set so there would be more room to dance. We're glad he did, as it is amazing. Very low tech set, but effective. The same person we visited with was in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and he showed us around backstage for that show in December. It was loaded with hi-tech effects and lots of props and sets. Completely the opposite.

Still kicking myself that I didn’t go.
WarriorHal
Have the Scouts revealed their 2018 "uniform" yet? The State Journal article says the corps is costumed in red and the female flugelhorn soloist will wear purple. I wasn't expecting a return to tradition and apparently they are continuing down the same road as last year.
Madcityscout
No they will reveal it on the 21st I believe.
Nine White Russians
Well, they were gonna reveal the new look tonight, but show is a standstill with no costumes. Ripoff, they could've given us at least a peak. Maybe like last year's pre-show photo shoot. Frankly I'm tired of corps doing this fake suspense/mystery b.s. Just show/tell us everything right away. This doesn't create a buzz or help the show at all. This admin are not exactly marketing geniuses like a couple of them would have us believe!
swmstom
Saw a brief clip on Facebook. Hornline sounded very strong and some sho nuff screamers.
SFZFAN
Anyone seen the new costume? Is it as horrible as last year? I'm sure the iconic Madison Scouts uniform isn't likely to return.
tedrick
Would love to see Madison come out with a really strong package and take Blue Stars and Phantom this year. PR and BS stumbled coming out of the gate last night... I really hope the Scouts have the vehicle to take advantage of BS/PR slow start -- if Scouts could just catch a break and start 2 points up on PR/BS they would be looking at their first 9th or better place finish in how many years? Since 2015 - they finished 8th (Regiment was 7th).
