Where did the Mgt. say that the use of a female in the brass line was a one and done ? I just assumed that once the Madison Scouts allowed females into their music ranks, that they wern't then going to go back once again to excluding females Its sort of like a pregnancy. You're either pregnant, or not pregnant. You're not " partially pregnant ". The 2018 Madison Scouts are indeed " coed ", no ?

Hard to say. Guard members tend to follow designers and staff. I am not sure the corps mentioned are competing for the same kids.
TRacer
While this is likely blasphamy to many readers, would Madison swallow their pride and consider partnering with another willing organization, much like Bones and Cadets did?

IMO...we can NOT lose the Madison Scouts You can lead a horse to water and make him drink, but if you can get him to float on his back then you’ve really got something. Brian Tuma
I’m curious if the female member auditioned along side everyone else. She’s a great player and no doubt would have gotten a spot on her own talents.

Difficult or not isn’t the issue, the continued viability of the organization is the issue. It seems to me that it is delusional to assume the corps can continue too long on this path and not fold. How many corps have stable finances and able to invest in world class designers. What are they doing that we aren’t. If coed leads to Corp funding go ahead, if the city of Madison lacks funding move to Indy or somewhere else.
