When I was with Windsor Guardsmen in 1977, we played it for our concert number. We were ahead of our time ... and usually ahead of the beat! 1

They seem much more aggressive this year— in music, drill, everything. I’m really digging this show so far and can’t wait to see the finished product. Symphony No. 6 caught me off guard (I’d forgotten they were playing it) and gave me all kinds of nostalgia feels—and some goosebumps too. This should be another great year for them. I saw the same runthrough...and went back two days later when I found percussion and brass going through the end of the show. The horn line sounds great. Knowing how hot their days are, I was impressed with their energy at the end of the day. It’s hard to get chills when it’s 90 degrees, but I had chills. They do their annual exhibition next Saturday and I think they will look and sound great.
