A Drum Corps Fan's Dream Part Tres

Yeah but not by a top corps for a few years...

So it's ok for top corps to play the same musical selection over and over?
It's been played 4 times in the past 10 years by Cadets, Crown, and SCV.
I guarantee no one will win a championship with it.

Yeah tell that to SCV 89 :)

I agree, there is so much out there musically. Why rehash. I think in this day and age it goes deeper legally into copyright issues.

I will say, and said before, what Bluecoats did this year musically, using a basically not popular progressive bands music, Thank You Scientist. I know them personally and they were enthralled to have Bloo use their music. I would bet my life that after hearing Bloo's take, people checked out Thank You Scientist and they have more fans because of it.

I'm not suggesting someone actually do it. Just think it's a fun topic to mull over in the off season while we await staff changes and show announcements

Well that was 28-29 years ago of the POTO rehash from the previous season. Wouldn't fly today at all.

Can you imagine Crown coming out next year with "It Is Again"? Would GE scores be good or bad because it isn't anything new?

-Fanfare for the common man

-Also Sparach Zarasusthra

-Everything changes

-Adagio for strings

-Elsa's

-Appalachian spring

-Almost anything by Shostakovich

-Mahler's Resurrection Symphony (seriously, someone needs to do this)

-All by myself

-Grow til tall (will be posting separately about this)

-Bohemian rhapsody

-Nessun dorma

I'm tired of typing on my phone ...

CDUB ,

I like your list and  would urge only a correction to your comment on Mahler's Symphony No. 2 (Resurrection) : it has been done as recently as 2010 by Carolina Crown and by Phantom Regiment as the closer to their 2006 production of Faust.

The latter and 2010's Into the Light are my 2 favorite Regiment shows.

How about Children of Sanchez, Tiger of San Pedro, THE LEGEND OF THE ONE-EYED SAILOR, and The Ice Castles Theme?

Children of Sanchez was certainly (and absurdly) over done, but one must admit it was about the perfect 70's drum corps chart. At least the first 5 times it was done.

Just the percussion intro. for "Legend". OR, you could play the whole thing with just body movement.

Didn't BD do that this year?

I agree. I should have used more sarcasm

Actually, I'd love to hear a modern arrangement/take on that classic show.

as long as the 7 shots appear
