I'm unsure how much A-Town has improved the restrooms since I was last there several years ago. It needed to be done and I know renovations were in progress. Parking isn't as easy by far as Williamsport or Hershey. The view, drum corps provenance, all give it some edge in some old-time ways, though. I do think, though that Williamsport may have an edge in terms of the acoustics and view for what DCA corps do now.

The upper-level restrooms at Allentown are fine, as are the ones near the spectators' gate, and it's a fine city to visit (The Mrs. & I have made the Renaissance downtown our home for WGI events and DCI East), but the front sideline is SO far back from the grandstand now :43_slight_frown:  . Billtown offers a MUCH better viewing and listening environment, and, I believe, we're the only thing going on in town Labor Day weekend, which is one reason I was able to book a room for all three nights next DCA weekend for about $250 less than what I've been paying in Rochester.

But, my actual two cents - I was one of the Annapolis votes :12_slight_smile: .

Ditto on Annapolis, though I do have to say "wow!" about how much less the cost is for the rooms.

Not only that, Jeff- IIRC, it was set up to be pretty much exclusively a baseball stadium for the Yankee farm system, which made hosting events like ACC's and DCA's an impossibility.

I mentioned Scranton more to compare the venue to Williamsport. If Williamsport had a restaurant/bar and better bathrooms, it'd beat Montage hands down in just about every area, I think.

ummm...no. the hill

You mean driving up the hill? As long as it's not snowing...

The hill won't be a big deal for corps, as the set up DCA has planned keeps equipment trucks in the lots at gate-level.

walking, transporting equipment to warmups....no matter what plan they have, someone won't be happy.

Loaded question: 2 contests over last two seasons regarding the site logistics- one would think there should be fair warning about any issues given a fair amount of the Open Class Corps have been there. I know, someone will prolly still gripe who hasn't.

Hershey and Allentown as lived 10 miles from Hershey and would drive to Atown for Prelims and be home for supper.  Just wanted to see them corps so skipped Finals.

My choice is Allentown.  It was the site of my first DCA Championships as a member, and my last as a member.
