Jacci Ferris  from 69 news now has twitter posts up stating that Hop has a vehicle owned by YEA and they want it back. the BOD of YEA also clarified his termination meant no financial severance or any other benefits. They do not accept resignation, he is fired with cause. they also mention he has equipment, not sure if there's more than the car. They have requested it multiple times and the next step is to take action to recover it with complaint on theft or direct recovery. sorry i cant link twitter stuff up at work

The tweet says fired without cause, so unemployment is there...

Mfrontz gave me an update. Fired with cause...

It was corrected to 'for cause' in this article: http://www.wfmz.com/news/lehigh-valley/fired-yea-board-denies-ex-directors-resignation-fires-him-amid-misconduct-allegations/731734892

"This week we did officially notify Mr. Hopkins that that he was terminated for cause," said YEA Chairman Doug Rutherford. "It certainly means there is no severance or any other benefits that come with his departure from YEA."

Could be a typo from you Jeff-- from the Tweet:

"He is fired for not performing the duties in his contract."

That's cause, I think. Maybe some morals clause that's in there. Would make a massive difference in likely not being able to collect unemployment based on 177k a year.

Generally there's a maximum amount of unemployment insurance you'll receive regardless of income. Once you make over a certain amount, you get the max. Anyway, interesting thing to do and I think Yea is justified in doing so...

Regarding the telephone, if it is through YEA, YEA will probably have to honor the contract and may have to pay the bill, but it depends on the plan. If it is a commercial plan, YEA could cancel the old number, change the number and give a phone to another employee, something that happens all the time. At least that’s the case with Verizon. However, a friend of mine has an employee benefit where the employer pays the basic fee and the employee pays for the extras such as family plans and the like. That being said, legal counsel was probably contacted when GH was let go, and prior to his departure the line was canceled if it was in fact through YEA and any credit cards issued were probably closed at the same time.

Regarding a car: usually businesses lease rather than buy cars for employees. If they purchased a car and it is in his name, there is probably no recourse. If it is owned by YEA, he is driving a stolen vehicle. The same is true if it is leased by YEA. If YEA reimburses him for payments, all they need to do is stop and he would be responsible for paying.

just put a forward on the # lol

simple as that

my organization has hundreds of lines - trust me, sometimes the simple fix works

Yes, because their payments to PA unemployment insurance would likely go up by some amount if he were able to collect.
