Corps Responses to Inquirer Article

SoundSport ensembles ought to have good policies in place, too, but I don't know the names of those organizations for 2018. I did just browse the website and social media pages of the Columbus Saints, who have been a SoundSport group and who have applied for DCA participation this year, and couldn't find any information on harassment or whistleblower policies.

Someone was kind enough to PM me with a link to Santa Clara Vanguard's whistleblower policy, which I overlooked, so I've moved SCV to the first list:

Let me know if I missed something. And if you are affiliated with any of the above groups, on the first list or the second, maybe check in with them and make sure you feel what they're doing is good enough.

Bluiecoats have their policy listed on website! No real "statement" on the recent events, but policy for safety non the less!! I can't say how long it's been posted there, but I looked last week when I started catching up on the larger thread and then read this thread today.

Thought I would share, thank you. Looking forward to this summer :)

DCA issued a statement yesterday that read, in its entirety:

"DCA has recently learned of the troubling allegations made against a former director of a national drum corps.  In light of these allegations, DCA, will continue to monitor its policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all persons participating  in, or associated with, DCA."

That seems inadequate, given that said "former director" was until last week the head of the parent organization of a DCA-member corps, and the actual director of that corps two or three years ago.

I see that DCA's statement has been expanded a little:

"DCA is closely monitoring the changes that have been made to the YEA organization in light of the allegations against its former CEO.  DCA will continue to evaluate its policies and procedures as the situation evolves and will take all appropriate actions in order to protect the safety and welfare of all its performers and participants.  DCA remains committed to its mission of providing performers with a stimulating and rewarding social experience in a safe environment."
