If anyone had told you, you might never have tried it. What pre-season description would have enhanced BC2016's impact? None. And You’ve just reminded me of a Cuban dish I had at the Columbia in Clearwater beach this past February. It was the most delicious meal I’ve ever eaten and I had no idea for what I was in store. i love food and drum corps on nearly an equal basis. @drummergirl turned us onto this place when we had lunch with her. Yeah but corps can give you heartache where food gives you heartburn. And both may require Rolaids. LOL. 1

Back in at least the late 80s 90s the April edition of DCI today newspaper listed most corps programs and the musical selections they were presenting as well. Also, some corps presented their entire programs at indoor stage shows as early as mid April ( remember serenade and brass in Harrisburg? ) the cadets and Crossmen used to present most of their show if not the entire show memorial day weekend. The cadets and blue Devils used to release a CD of their shows preseason. I am sure copyright issues prevent some of the announcements but I have no doubt corps are just playing games and waiting for no real substantial reason other then they don't want to let the cat out of the bag. We just have to wait… :/ part licensing for sure. suspense sells...in 16 we got Coats music choices the day before the first show, the title the day of! Plus, how many times have we gotten announcements, then they change stuff...and let's be honest...just because a corps says a tune is in the show doesn't mean it's in there long, or the arrangement is to everyone's liking? if you're waiting to buy a ticket because of what they do, you're waiting to sit on the 20 yard line

Probably a lot to do about profitability. Not many marketing specialists with drum corps trying to drive sales and profit. and yet with all you saw in the ads for The Last Jedi, you still walked out saying "holy ####!" about more than a few things. No local corps to pull it off anymore. DCA could probably still do it somewhere in Jersey and include Surf and The Cadets. "Carnagie Hall": Evening with the Corps at Carnagie Hall is a GREAT memory. I was at the 62-64 shows. Fab performances by all, and at the 64 show, Skyliners "Pepe" Nataro, Tom Swan and Tommy Martin were featured "Solo" performers. The BHOF runs a few standstills, and the Alumni corps have been showcased at York, Raeding, and the Reilly Raiders concerts. Elphaba

The coats in 2016 was a super unique situation that will probably never happen again. so everybody trying to chase that magic is pretty futile. :) Long tenured fan here… I always get my tickets as soon as I can which is usually before the public offerings since I've been a fan for so long. can always sell them down the road :)

Well of course but when I saw commercials for it they also had me thinking holy {^|!##. I can't wait to see this thing which is now what's lacking a bit. didn't hurt Santa Clara 2004 when they released stuff all off season long. ended up being the crowds favorite on finals night in Denver. It seems you got turn to the Darkside Jeff… You and I used to agree all the time on things :) lol
