What's that saying for mutual funds? "Past performance is no guarantee of future gains." Totally applies here too. BD has been top 2 for 11 years running but, yeah, that can change. I haven't updated it for a few years, but what I found when comparing year-to-year is how little placements have changed in recent years compared to DCI's first decades. Beckham
I'll just do World Class. As far as Open it's pretty safe to assume BDB and SCVC will be the top two and end up in the 15-20 range at World Class championships. 1. Blue Devils 2. Carolina Crown 3. Santa Clara Vanguard 4. The Cavaliers 5. Boston Crusaders 6. Bluecoats 7. The Cadets 8. Phantom Regiment 9. Blue Knights 10. Crossmen 11. Blue Stars 12. Mandarins 13. Madison Scouts 14. Colts 15. The Academy 16. If I did predictions, which i don’t, I’d flip a couple of placements but nothing drastic. I know there’s a part of you that wants BDB to make finals. 84BDsop
Without reading the rest of this thread, I predict that Cadets will get the most love of any corps this year, regardless of finishing placement....'16 Academy/'95 Madison/'08 Regiment-level. While the average movement might be a spot or two, there are some pretty dramatic moves for individual corps. Boston made a significant jump in 2017, but there have been others (Blue Stars 2008, Madison 2010, Crossmen 2012, Cadets 2011)... not to mention some of the big drops. It's true that many of the current Top 12 were in the mix 15 years ago, so not much movement in that regard.

Cadevilina Crown
The top half of Finals will contain the same exact corps as last year (BD, Bluecoats, Boston, Cavaliers, Crown, SCV), but where they place will depend almost exclusively on show design. I'm not going to say any more about these corps other than it will be hard to picture BD anywhere other than in the top 2 (but it could very well happen). Other placements beyond 6th that I feel more solidly about: 7. The Cadets 8. Phantom Regiment 9. Blue Stars 10. Blue Knights 11. Madison Scouts 12. Crossmen --- 13. The Academy 14. Mandarins 15. Colts 16. Troopers 17. Blue Devils B (Open Class Champion) I have no idea what to expect after 17th. There are a lot of corps in that 18th-26th bunch that are aiming for breakout seasons.
