Good for Academy's staff for swallowing their pride and abandoning at least some of the narration previously used (and despised) in this production. Nice that there's no more Shakespeare stuffed into the middle of Barber's (20th century) overture for The School for Scandal (a play written more than 150 years after Shakespeare's death). They should see about cutting at least 25% more.

I like this idea.

"O Captain! My Captain!" is a poem about the death of Abraham Lincoln.

I'd read a lot of less-than-favorable opinions about Academy's show, but I quite enjoyed it. I love a good School for Scandal.

I agree that some of this narration is I'll designed.

I do like some of the transition narration, though (e.g., Pythagorean theorem).

uhm, they are playing the music from "that scene" from Dead Poets Society

Ah, thanks for that; I've never seen that film and don't know the music. I know it's beloved by many, although some people found it to be phony.
