mello916
Hi everyone, thought you'd be interested in this profile of SCV drum major Carl Huang from UC Davis Magazine. Carl is not just a drum major, but a microbiology major at UC Davis who juggles his corps duties with heavy academic demands. As an SCV alum and staff member at UC Davis, I was thrilled to see this story: https://magazine.ucdavis.edu/marching-forward/ Best of luck to Carl and ALL the drum majors who show tremendous leadership in all aspects of their lives. Enjoy! 6
GlenI
Really nice piece. It speaks to the contribution that the DCI experience provides to its MMs. It also illustrates the dedication that it takes to reach the highest level of the art and the balances and sacrifices corps members make. Thanks for posting!

mfrontz
Good article. Neat to read about the 'days left marching' tradition SCV has (and that there was a 16 year old in the corps last year!) And I love that the SCV DM's mom works for 'Cadence Design Systems.'
xandandl
Nicely written and presents drum corps in a positive light. The article omits the year he left SCVC to be back field conductor for Phantom Regiment before he moved back to be asst. DM at SCV, almost literally down the block from where he grew up. Nice guy.
