CrownBariDad
Could you share your methodology? All the gory details for us stats geeks?
FaustianMachine
Sure thing! For the higher placed group, I took the sum of the scores from San Antonio and Atlanta and added 100 to them to represent a perfect score at Allentown. Then I divided that by 3. Once I had that number, I did that for the group directly below them, except I added to the last score until my average came out to be the same as the first average. Vanguard: (92.325+93.675+100)/3 = 95.333 BD: (90.975+93.250+101.775)/3 = 95.333
denmum
This is very interesting and thanks for the info. I guess we can say it will be a lot easier for most corps' to better their placement from Thurs. to Fri. next week than it will be from now to next Thurs.

I think I like your way better.
grenadasmoothie
Go Mandarins! Get that 1.65 and then some! And BAC, too, you got this!
PopcornEater1963
This assumes the corps directly above any corps in question remains static? For instance...with BAC only 0.1 behind Cavaliers...that assumes that Cavaliers make no gain in the same time frame, right?

Correct; or another way to look at it is that Boston has to score 0.108 points above the score of The Cavaliers to overtake them. If The Cavaliers tie or score higher than Boston, there is no way for them to be overtaken in the Prelims rankings.

Thanks...they are scoring right next to each other...ought to be interesting!
