Ya, missed that those numbers were 2017. Watched them while driving tour in 2017 and thought they would be finalists. Do think they are in a good geographical position to attract and retain members now..

I would tend to believe that Academy is at least in no geographical disadvantage to attract and retain marchers, bluehull. Georgraphy does not seem to be any Corps disadvantage any longer, if it ever was.. DCI has had medalists, and Title winners, from all 4 regions of the Country. There are many factors that go into what it takes to be successful in competition DCI. Geography does not seem to one of them, imo. Best of sucesss this off season, and into 2019 with the Academy. They are a Corps whose shows I enjoy most seasons... this season's included.

I agree

Nowadays geography is not a major factor. With the exception of BD and SCV who are magnets for top level mm's. Do think other members tailor their direction to corps that will suit their talents and personal likes.

Do not drive for Academy, but also wish them much success in their endeavors.

If you drive an r/v, thanks for leaving me plenty of space to get my pickup out pf the grass parking spot in Lawrence

Not sure the age outs from Madison but I’m guessing it would be safe to assume there will be quite a bit of attrition as well.

I wonder if anyone has ever made finals for the first time better than 10th. Or better than 88.15.

1983 Suncoast Sound.

Prelims score 84.80.....but 5th place.  (up from 13th place and 81.10 in 1982)

Ended Finals in 6th with an 86.05.

Keep in mind that this was back in the days of the tic.

The Blue Devil Alumni page is reporting 51 age outs for 2018.

Thats a little less than last season's 60.
