RickCogley
I was listening to a compilation of arias today, and some of them got me to thinking that they would make great drum corps pieces. While I was listening I got the feeling that if a drum corps did do an aria, it might lend itself to really long soli, and that begged the question: What's the longest brass solo in drum corps? Not a really important topic perhaps, but might be interesting to think about. Anyone have any ideas, or, "know for a fact" ? 84BDsop
"I Have a Love" from 84 WSS was pretty long, if only because of the slow tempo...I would say, tho, that the incrfedible flugel solo in the Glassmen a couple of years back would qualify... Zanbyrnes
Speaking of arias, the mellophone solo in Nessun Dorma during Phantom's '91 show was pretty long.
Kekasse
Crossmen 2001 - Fire Dance This solo was looooooong !! one of the best closer ever, IMHO !!! b**bs
CincinnatiGloryMello
BD 89 was pretty long too, but it was 2 or 3 guys plaing it I guess. So I guess I would go with the Glassmen Flugel, weird thing is... the very first show in Toledo for GMen was the best I have ever heard that solo. Unfortunately he did not nail it at finals.
