It's color guard madness, baby!

Recommended Posts

From Maryland to Indiana, to Oklahoma and Kansas, Oregon and North

Carolina, and Kentucky to ... every state that will be represented at

next week's

Winter Guard International Championships in Dayton, the madness is

just beginning.

Whether it's called a court, or a floor; whether it's in March or it's

in April, both basketball and color guard share two things: venue and

championship season.

As we all get ready to converge on the most unlikely championship city

--and virtual home of winter color guard -- all of the good friends of

Field&Floor want to continue the madness -- and the fun! -- for

another week. Here's how we plan to do it!

Enjoy the week, then enjoy another round of champions on us, the fans

in the stands, all of the good friends of field and floor.

To salute that link between our art and their sport, the good friends

of field&floor decided to ditch naming the top 10 and 20 color guards

and go with the sport of our sport: performance of the performer!

We're going to honor that most exciting part of color guard by

recognizing -- NCAA tournament-style -- levels of performance that

will lead to the best in our nations.

Besides, there can never be enough ways to thank, to congratulate, and

to honor the wonderful performers -- most of them are still young

adults! -- who bring the sport and the art of color guard to life

every year.

See you in Dayton, and on the 50!
