DCA..30 years later(some thoughts)

Recommended Posts

I agree with CVContra.

Even In 1972 when St Joes folded and many of us went to the Roch Crusaders many of us had 2nd thoughts..untill we won Nationals in Chicago that year. With Storkie and the St Joes Drumline, Joe Pero Sr and a host of SJs in the hornline it felt a little like I was still IN St Joes hehehe.

Maybe I see a trend. Upstate NY has very few Jr corps(and a pretty good school music program still,,yes?), so I am pretty sure to the Jrs in the immediate area Brigs/Empire/Cru IS a step up.

Whereas if youre in the Cavvies, or Cadets, or BD, or Santa Clara....the memories and loyalty are strong and fresh....and pretty hard to top.

Just a thought

Donny,  I do agree with you 100%.  but can't I have just 1/20th of a second of loud!  I do remember you telling me that a few times.  Mark

Although "Loud Is Good" is a nice slogan for the Rengades, for the sake of argument why don't we use the word "Powerful" instead of "loud". That is how I and others desribe the Renegade horn line, Powerful and Articulate. And they can make the hair stand up in the back of your neck when they open up. Personally, I don't really care for orchestrations that seem to be thinly disguised warm ups.
