Friday nite September 2nd......(9:00 P.M.) Lackawana County Stadium........... 26 Drum Corps' and their enterages..........their rehearsals over for the day and seeking a "FIX" and a good time.............AHA!!!!! ....MINICORPS'............ AND.........MINICORPS.....what a great opportunity to perform for your PEERS....... yes you WILL be judged.........not only by a judgeing association but by those who you have come to know and participated with over many years........... Could be thousands in the stands......easily...........time to ENTERTAIN and have some FUN...........MINICORPS' STYLE (yea.........I borrowed the STYLE thingee.....) WE KNOW WHAT WE'RE GETTING INTO BY ENTERING AGAINST SOME GREAT CORPS,AT THIS POINT WE'RE STILL GROWING IN MEMBERS AND TALENT.14 MONTHS AGO WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MANY INSTUMENTS BUT THANKS TO CORPS LIKE CAROLINA GOLD AND LIGHT BRIGADE, WHO GAVE US A CHANCE TO PURCHACE PERCUSSION EGUIPMENT AND A TRUCK. WE'VE DONE SOME PARADES AND FUNDRAISERS TO BUY SOME BRASS,AND WITH OUR CURRENT NUMBERS BEING WHAT THEY ARE,THE MINIS SEEMED LIKE THE THING TO DO.OVER THE WINTER WE PLAN TO HAVE A WINTER GUARD AND PERCUSSION UNIT.THEN MAYBE FIELD A COMPETATIVE DCA CORPS NEXT SUMMER. THINGS ARE STARTING TO ROLL FOR US SO WITH A GOOD SHOWING IN THE MINIS,HOPEFULLY WE CAN TAKE THAT NEXT STEP IN OUR PLAN RE-BUILT THE IMPERIALS BACK INTO A WORTHY FIELD COMPETATIVE CORPS. A short time ago I was in East Strausburg. The "Blouseman" representatives had initially planned on bringing their Contra Line to the Minicorps competition. After I told them about the rule stating a maximum of 21 performing members, they got ######. I was informed that the plan was to bring their full Contra line. It was decided though, that they were not going to accept penalty points or disqualification due to having too many performing players. I suggested to have the remaining Contra's hang out on the sideline until the Encore. Their reply was: "BULL_ _ _ _!!" Since the "Blouseman" are a different breed of people, I didn't want to argue.
