Staff Changes

Recommended Posts

George Hopkins, director of the Cadets, announced Monday that Jay Bocook, brass arranger, and Gino Cipriani, brass caption supervisor, have both agreed to return to the Cadets for the 2006 season.

In making the announcement, Hopkins said, "I am ecstatic. Jay is the best in the business and Gino is one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure to stand aside. I am so happy for the Cadets that they will have a chance to be influenced by such great men. I am thrilled for myself that I have the opportunity to work with these gentlemen, and I am overjoyed on behalf of the Cadets' organization."

Hopkins continued, "We want to create here, the same year after year brass excellence that we  have successfully developed in other captions. Longevity is key! We want these guys for a long, long time".

Additional announcements will be forthcoming. Hopkins did say, "We are hoping as many of the staff return for 2006 as possible. From those here 25 years, to those year but one, this has been a great season. I would love to do it again".

And I'm assuming April's gonna keep the guard as usual.

Really I thought she was, but she was on staff I know. Oh it was Johnathan Schwartz, now where have I heard that name before?

What's happening at Vanguard ???

Note: this is not meant to inflame, infuriate or start a little flame war; simply passing along what I read.

According to the "other" drum corps groups (r.a.m.d.), the director and some of the visual staff resigned, including Rosander. I haven't seen confirmation of any of this, though.

So, take it for what it's worth, which may be nothing. :)
