Tonawanda, great cap, great grass, well-manicured, NO LONGER THERE! Contest.......... I am partial to NT Open but I did love to go to Marion, OH Favorite Drum Major......Carleen Tesavis (Royal Coachmen), she was a good conductor, good leader and really good to look at too. Favorite Bus.....school buses (back in the day, what can I say?) Favorite Senior Corps......Rochester Crusaders, second Fav is Heat Wave Favorite Brass Instructor....Donny Allen, Steve Cooley and Ted Key Favorite girl............My wife, can I say it's the best relationship I've EVER had? It is!!! Favorite horn.....soprano/trumpet Favorite Corps to teach......Rochester Patriots (Jr.) and Rochester Crusaders (Sr.) Favorite Trumpet player.....Allen Vizzutti favorite Drummer.............Buddy Rich Favorite Big Band.............Stan Kenton and the old Maynard Ferguson Band Favorite Rock Band...........Chicago, also Toto Favorite Song.....Laughter in the Rain by Neil Sedaka Favorite Corps Director....I have three....Mike Linton, John Nolan and John Hathaway Favorite piece of music......... KeithHall Posted September 14, 2005 Author Share Posted September 14, 2005 My Favorite performing year was 1976 for Junior corps (Royal Coachmen) Watching?..........1976, Man that was some good stuff, Blue Devils winning, Phantom, 27th, Madison, Santa Clara, Bridgemen, Cavaliers, Oakland Crusaders, Seneca Optimists, Blue Stars, Capitol Freelancers and Guardsmen. Genesee Cream Ale Favorite breakfast beer....... Busch Longest overnite bus trip...... Ottawa, Ontario to Butler, PA (1977)- 520 miles (I remember passing my house in Toronto around 4:00 am) Hottest practice field............ Dallas Hottest contest................. Birmingham Coldest contest............... Jonquiere, Quebec in July, '78 (even colder than Montreal in '82) Favorite DM.............. Joel Alleyne (Del Lasalle, OC) Favorite school to stay........... MARCA, in Marion, OH. We stayed there 4 years in a row with C of PB. We competed US Open Class A and from '74 to '77 we placed 21st, 14th, 7th and 1st respectively First drum corps "jaw dropping moment".. watching SCV at '74 US Open prelims. Wish I had more time.
