TomPeashey Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 BIG OFFICIAL ditto from me and everyone else on the staff of DCA There are a million unsung volunteers who do not get thanked properly... well... a few dozen at least... I'm not sure anyone realizes how important the jobs Norm LeFrois and Joe Siracuse do are... they both work their butts off for Allen... it's sure nice when you can put people that competent in key positions. For instance... as those who were there know... the area was locked down tight by the Rochester Police. No pass on your windshield... you didn't go there... didn't matter if you were a bus, truck or car... this is all good... it was very necessary due to lack of parking facilities... Star United as winning mini corps was to play at finals... they came by bus... we never thought of that... that a mini corps might be busing it... so we never thought to arrange for a proper performance packet for the winning mini corps for Sunday night... Now we made all other arrangements on the fly and all except that crucial bus pass was taken care of... I get the emergency phone call from Star and I'm nobody... no way to help... I simply hand it over to Joe, he gives her his cell number... scrounges a bus pass from lord knows where (not sure I want to know - as Allen Buell had them and wasn't available at the time)... goes the two blocks to where the city police is stopping them - meets their bus, gets them proper credentials and through the roadblock... to where they belong... May sound simple enough but at the time it was a HUGE effort... Things you don't know about or see... when the show was over, who do I give the mics to? I'm exhausted... last these volunteers are GREAT! Quote
TomMoore Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Thanks, Allen & Team, for a fantastic weekend! Quote
Cru2u Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Allen, You Rock!!!!!!!!!!!! BIG Kudos go out to all local volunteers and staff! Great Job! Quote
Jeff Ream Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Allen, We probably passed each other a hundred times this past weekend, but I never got to tell you what a great job you did and how smooth everything was with one small exception. Not even a major complaint, tho it caused issues for some around me. Some stadium people working the entrances from the concourse checked ticket stubs for everyone coming up to keep from having seat scammers sneak in. I know for the non club 107 seats this happen. for the club seats, well, there were scammers all weekend, which led to more than a few distruptive chats while corps were on about who's seat was where and who was in a seat they didn't have tickets for. Next year, if possible, have them all check tickets. Twice i had to tell people to shut up while corps were on, but people had legitimate issues with people scamming their seats. Other than that minor issue....job extremely well done, and I look forward to coming back up next year. Quote

On the money, Tom.... those two guys are just great people who really know their stuff, no question. Congrats to Allen and the rest of the local committee on a job well done....again! Fran Quote
The Original El Guapo Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Perfect weather to cap off a perfect weekend. Thanks goes out to all who made this edition of the DCA championships great. Cant wait for next year!!!! Quote
TomPeashey Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Thanks Jeff... I'm sure this will be discussed as to "how the heck could this happen with all the security" I believe you - you are NOT the first to complain... I had to hear it from my own brother too. duly noted and action will be taken. Quote
