boacavietob Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I just looked at the Cadets staff listing for the 2009 season and was surprised to see an Athletic Trainer listed. Its my future profession but wasn't aware that they were employed by corps. Do all corps use them? If so, I wonder if I could go on tour this summer to get all of my required hours. Quote
Penguin Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 From what I've witnessed, it's not uncommon for many corps to have at least one trainer on hand during the summer. Quote
One Step Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 The trainer in my corps doubles as a brass tech. It seems to work pretty well, and he is super helpful to have around on tour. Quote

And possibly get paid also! I sure would contact corps...as they saying goes...can't hurt to ask. Quote

With the toll that marching takes on a person's body, it is a great idea to employ a trainer. Helps out A LOT! I don't know if all corps have them, but I know the Cadets usually do. Not sure how you would go about going on tour and getting required hours though. Quote
lowend Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Seems like I hear about more injuries annually from the Cadets than other corps too. Quote
soccerguy315 Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 lots of corps have trainers sometimes they are other staff members who double, but a lot of times they are just trainers. Quote
flervinuveling Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Scouts had one for a little while in 07. Quote
MikeD Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Maybe not an athletic trainer, but I know a lot of them are athletic supporters. 1 Quote
