craiga Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 2009 Sneak Peek ...temptation, seduction, betrayal, obsession... With the coming of the new year, the Crusaders wanted to offer our fans a glimpse of our 2009 production. The Boston Crusaders' 2009 show will focus on Eve, the original "Femme Fatale," temptation, and the aftermath of her first bite of the apple. Continuing the Crusaders' recent tradition of bringing to the field a mix of contemporary and classical music, the 2009 production will feature music by composers Camille Saint-Saens (Bacchanale), Richard Strauss (Salome), Ottorino Respighi (Belkis Queen of Sheba) and John Psathas (Dance of the Maenads), in addition to other contemporary works, including music from the video game Myst. Drum corps fans will immediately recognize Saint-Saens' signature melodies and discover a new favorite in Psathas. Crusaders members have already received music for the opener, with more to come at our January camp at Newsome High School. Watch crusaders.com for more details about the show in the next few months! craiga Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I'm actually familiar with everything listed except for "MYST".....showing my age again....... Quote
Stryfe Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 woohoo! Game music. Not a series or type I care for terribly a lot, but still something. Also, I like the title of "Dance of the Maenads" -- fits with Bacchanale very well.. woohoo Ancient Greek I. Is the title "Femme Fatale?" Quote
craiga Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) I don't think they've landed on a title yet. It is interesting, though, that in an era when many corps tend to announce the show title first and specific selections later that BAC has done the opposite. "Femme Fatale" rocks, imo, however....... Just an idea........ Edited January 6, 2009 by craiga Quote
