I would love to see bagpipes utilized on the field!

And with Bb/F brass it would be possible. :worthy:

Not sure. I don't think I'd like it at all. I also doubt I would just walk away without giving it a chance, though.

I say anything goes. If is interesting and exciting that works for me. Fans still want volume so I doubt we will see 20 flutes out on the field, but if a corps plays Jethro Tull, why not have a flute amplified in the pit? Just saying.

Woodwinds in the pit . . . sure, I'd stay. Anything would be better than those corny synth patches.

Full blown woodwind sections? I don't think that will ever happen, but it would do me in. Except for a handful of groups the darned things don't really work on the field in marching band. Nothing makes me think they'll work in drum corps, either.

:worthy: ...some funny answers so far...

But hey... I don't care for or see a need for amplification. I still support the activity.

I don't care for narration or a person speaking during a show. But I still support the activity. (as a side note to this, I didn't like the talking at all in the first years. But ironic that Pioneer had a guy who spoke with the right inflections in his voice, had a great speaking tone, spoke well and the words had purpose to the music and Pio's show. I liked it. It's possible to change one's mind over time.)

I don't think I would care AT ALL for woodwinds on the field. Seems blasphemous to the activity to me, and not the instrumentation I want to hear with "bugles." I don't want that to happen. But I will still support the activity if it does happen.

Funny how if you asked me if we should go back to "elevator drills" and color presentations and limit the number of instruments in the pit, I would also say no. There was a day when I thought adding all these instruments to the pit would be a huge distraction. Now I LOVE all the voices in the pit. Glad I supported drum corps when they developed the pit and I was PO'd about back then.
