This holiday weekend will be a busy one for SoCal Dream.
It all begins on Saturday with the Huntington Beach 4th of July parade in the morning. After that, the corps will take a bus to Pacific Palisades for that towns 4th of july celebration and parade. Once the bus returns the corps to HB, there is a corps member party planned....Find the details in the corps member forum.....sorry, you must be a member to attend.

Following the recent announcement that the Corps were re-forming, Waterlooville Drum Corps will be holding their first practice on 11th July 2009 from 1pm till 4pm. The location is Waterlooville Baptist Church, London Road (opposite the Woodpecker pub) - previous members and anyone wishing to join are welcome to come along.

One of the people propelling Carolina Crown's slow and steady rise in Drum Corps International competition is brass caption supervisor Matt Harloff. DCI’s Dan Potter spoke with Matt after last Friday's Crown victory in Normal, Ill. and asks him about the brass sound and style he's helped create in Fort Mill.

The June camps are now complete with the ENTIRE SHOW on the field as of June 21st. The corps is quickly ramping up for its first competitions on July 10 and 11 in Valdosta, GA then Orlando, FL. Having a completed show will allow the audience an early season opportunity to fully immerse themselves into the show's storyline, "X - Drum Corps Evolved." The corps worked through 3 consecutive 3 day camps at North Port High School to get the show completely down on the field. In the all age world this would be the equivalent to everydays. While both the brass and percussion increased their numbers in June, we are still looking for two trumpets, one lead baritone, and at least 3 guard to fill the corps out.

National Public Radio Correspondent and Cadet Alumnus John Ogle recently aired an in-depth news story on the Holy Name Cadets coming to Virginia to conduct a Music Is Cool Clinic and take part in the upcoming Tidewater Summer Music Games show on July 7th.
The story aired on Monday, June 29th on WCVE Public Radio in Richmond, Va., and talks about the corps’ upcoming clinic for area band students on July 7th at Kings Fork High School in Suffolk, Va. Ogle’s story also touches on the Holy Name Cadets 75th Anniversary season and their program, West Side Story 2009: Conflict and Resolution.
