Kansai Regional Contest Results

The 28th annual Kansai Regional Marching Band & Baton Twirling Contest was held over two days at the Maishima Arena in Osaka, Japan. 36 units from 6 prefectures around western Japan competed for a spot at the Japan Nationals this coming winter. 9 groups competed in the independent class; 7 in the small group category and 2 in the large group category. DCI division three competitor Yamato, in their inaugural year as a competing corps in Japan, finished second in the small group category and forth overall. Jokers Drum & Bugle Corps finished first in the small group category and 2nd overall, earning them a spot in the Japan Nationals. The Gryphons (Tonan Marching Band) Took top honors, finishing first in the large group category, also earning a spot in the Japan Nationals. Soka Kansai Jonsho were awarded the Shinsain (Judge’s) Special Award.

The 34th Annual All japan Marching Band & Baton Twirling Championships will take place on December 16 and 17 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Independent Class groups will be competing on December 17.
