To the untrained eye, the Concord Blue Devils Winter Guards might seem like an ordinary color guard or dance troupe. But this isn’t ballet?it’s a precise choreography of spinning flags, rifles and sabers set to music ranging from classical to jazz.
It’s a unique youth activity that has become synonymous with success in the city of Concord.
The Winter Guards?young kids who range in age from 8 to college-age?began in the 1980s as part of the award-winning Concord Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps color guard.
