In The News: Crafting The Impact Of Arts

Like a lot of people in Dubuque, Jan Stoffel is sure the arts make an impact on her community.

As the city’s arts and cultural affairs coordinator, she is overseeing two research projects that could help to prove it this year by taking its artistic pulse and tallying up its cultural balance sheet.

Both projects are coordinated through Americans for the Arts, a national organization of which the City of Dubuque is a member.

* The Local Arts Index: Dubuque is one of 100 counties nationwide — the only one in Iowa — to be part of this pilot study. It will look at the character, vitality and performance of the arts in the countywide community.
