2016 Carolina Crown Completing Busy First Two Weeks On Tour
When the 150 members of the Crown Drum Corps exit the field at Blakeslee Stadium in Mankato, MN, Wednesday night they will have completed a stretch of six performances in six days. That’s five shows and a July 4th parade. Include the DCI Tour Premiere back on Thursday, June 23rd, the Massillon, OH, show on Saturday the 25th and the Hamilton, OH, show on Monday the 27th and Crown will have performed in eight shows and one parade in just 14 days.
After the first weekend of three shows, Crown spent the week as the Drum Corps in Residence at the Music for All Summer Symposium at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. This week is always a highlight for the corps as they get to work with several hundred high school students as they participate in the symposium marching band track. The week was capped off On Friday, July 1st, as Crown performed at the Muncie, IN, show to an enthusiastic crowd filled with Music for All campers. After the show, Crown took the field again to perform with the campers.
