Thurrock Marching Brass Parade With Hamleys At Lakeside

The excited youngsters of Thurrock Marching Brass were asked by the world famous toy store, Hamleys, to help create some music, fun and attention to a parade from their store at Intu Lakeside, Thurrock through the busy shopping centre and out into the purpose build ice rink where a stage was set ready for the turning on ceremony for this year’s Christmas lights.

Santa was given the honour of pressing the button, and on Saturday 12 November 2016 on they came. With the young marching band entertaining hundreds of shoppers inside Lakeside itself and then outside the crowd was treated to a full on-stage performance with singing by all the cast and characters of Hamleys toy store combined.

Speaking of the event, Corps Director, Jay Lindner said “Lakeside is in the heart of our community and at the centre of Thurrock and so to be able to take part, in what was a fun filled and exciting adventure for our youngsters, was something really special. With so many shoppers around I was particularly pleased and proud of all our young members for maintaining a professional composure, especially given their ages. Hanmleys are a world class store and together with our friends at Intu Lakeside, made the whole experience one that our members will remember for a long time to come. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone for their support and to the staff and members for doing the name of Thurrock Marching Brass proud within the community yet again.”
