  2. Hi everyone! We've been hard at work since last August making a LOT of changes to the app. Things aren't ready just yet but when they are, it will be the biggest update we've released so far! We're making it easier than ever to get scores and find the information about the drum corps season you're looking for. There will also be new ways to interact with your fellow drum corps fans that we know you'll love. So bear with us for another month or two as we get the app ready for the 2017 season. We appreciate everyone that has downloaded the app to date and we're looking forward to another great season of drum corps! posted from the DrumScorps app

  3. "Military Marchers, the 1960's": I remember seeing corps armed forces members home on leave, marching in their military uniforms back in the Viet Nam war era. There was a picture of Skyliner Sol Anthony marching with his corps in his Army tans in DCN, and Frank Dorritte marching with Sunrisers in his. Elphaba

  4. This is not the impression that I got from Hopkins's update. Hopkins said the designers would discuss the show but not divulge everything, including the music as licensing is still pending.

  7. I can recall seeing members in their military uniforms marching. I cannot come up with specifics. (Which corps? Which years?) Maybe someone else can provide some details. I was in the Army in 1967 and attended several Des Plaines Vanguard appearances. I wore an Army summer khaki dress uniform to a couple of them. I was on staff, and not a marching member.

  8. It sure did. When my older brothers got started in corps... 1967.... I remember seeing shows where some corps members marched in their military uniforms. I'm guessing they were home on leave, perhaps?

  9. Another great movie. But you don't look a thing like Joe Pesci.

  10. What do you mean "funny"? Like how, "funny"? Like I'm a funny guy, Ha-Ha, "funny"? Or funny like I look funny? Or maybe funny like you're laughing AT me, "funny"? (Pulling a .45 out of my waistband). Or maybe you meant that it's "funny" how I wave my little friend around here, and how it might be funny if BANG, I kneecap you now "funny". Can't you tell there's a very SERIOUS argument going on between Brasso and Stu? What do you mean "funny"? (/sarcasm and insert )

  13. I would love to see Santa Clara tackle William Walton music (1993 show) now that they have a big boy brass line once again. Phantom Regiment should really give another go at Rachmaninoff's "Capriccio Bohemien" and "Symphonic Dances" (1995). And, while's it not a redo, with modern pit writing, can someone PLEASE bring Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto to the field? I know they did it a million times in the 70s and 80s, but it's been 20-25 years now. I want to see the "modern" Blue Devils scorch their way through some Johnny Richards and Don Ellis. Probably not at the top of everyone's list for Crown, but I loved their "Jekyll & Hyde" show (1999) and think they would KILL if they brought that show back with Klesch arranging for that Harloff brass line. For Cavaliers I go back to 1994 and ask them to dust off the March from "Symphonic Metamorphosis" by Paul Hindemith, a fantastic piece that has only been performed a few times in DCI's 45 years. My last choice is more conceptual than repertoire based. Controversial opinion: The Cadets' 2006 "Through the Looking Glass" show was an even better concept and design than the epic 2005 "The Zone". The execution was just the pits compared with 2005. Even though it was barely a decade ago, I think The Cadets should give that Bizarro/Alice in Wonderland type show concept another try. Complaint department is over there.

  19. yep. he captures the ebb and flow in her voice -- even the part where she's a capella. just so tastefully done. here's a Klesch "mashup". and it all sounds so beautifully done that you'd swear that this is what the composer wrote.
