I have one thing for each corps: Phantom: instead of the male guard playing brass for the opener, everyone plays brass at the beginning - ensemble, battery, entire guard, DMs, you name it. Then everyone switches to rifles for ten minutes of silent drill. Bold! Crossmen: two words - nude Bones. Mandarins: taking a cue from SCV, one of the bungee-bouncing guard members becomes a human tetherball. Cadets: they actually do better. Blue Stars: Bomble the snowman from the Rankin-Bass special just slides down the slide all show long. Blue Knights: ICE agents stop the show due to themes related to immigration. BAC: in a shocking twist, Goliath wins. Cavaliers: they win the whole ###### thing because they are awesome and their show is awesome. Carolina Crown: brass don’t play at all in the opener, letting the choral reinforcement really shine. Several DCP commenters inconsolable. SCV: after a corps vote, they just take a swing at doing “Babylon” again. Bluecoats: in complete defiance of the rules, the guard member who comes down the ramp with a drum major mace is replaced with...Sir Paul McCartney! When the prop is rotated after the opening hit, the set player is replaced with...Ringo Starr! An amp and speaker is placed in the lap of every audience member. Chaos! Blue Devils: looking for that elusive perfect ending, out comes a pep band arrangement of “Ghostbusters”, showing that the Devils are, in fact, not afraid of no ghosts. Win gold anyway.

Now now. We all won tonight. These are the best kids In the world and why I go to shows year after year.

FUN FACT: The "Crown" set at the end of Carolina Crown's 2019 show is a subtle nod to their 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018 shows when they also performed under the name "Carolina Crown."

As we embark on another finals journey with our beloved Devils, i want to take a moment and talk about a few things......... trolls and haters...........If you are a BD fan and have been around this activity and DCP for a awhile, you know whats coming if the Devils pull out a win tonight. The trolls and haters will be out in full force saying the same stuff we have heard year after year............BD is paying off the judges...........BD plays to the sheets............BD cheats to win.............BD doesn't march and play............Corps (insert name) can easily march BDs show, but the Devils can't march their show.............Debbie Torchia sealed another BD win (which would be crazy cause the woman isn't even judging tonight), but somehow they will blame her anyway lol. If BD wins tonight, there is nothing that's going to be said that we haven't heard in the past. I ask BD Nation to just ignore it, laugh it off and move on. We know the trolls are waiting to spew their hate, some of us know who they are. Bottom line is arguing with them isn't going to change their minds. If they want to invade DCP, say their stupid comments so they can get a few likes in the bottom right hand corner of their post to validate their lives, let them. Who cares? Cause no matter what they say, they can't and will never change the outcome. From here on out, our new phrase for BD Nation is going to be......"The more they hate, the more we celebrate!" Bluecoats and their incredible classy fanbase.............Regardless of the outcome tonight, i am asking all of BD Nation to be classy and respectful tonight, and make sure we all go over to the Bluecoats thread and congratulate Bloo on a incredible season. Bloo is gold medal and champions thru and thru. They kicked major *** all season and they need to be praised and celebrated.That is one helluva organization in Canton Ohio!!! Like the corps itself, the Bloo fanbase is incredibly classy. @Terri Schehr @Jurassic Lancer @JWillis35 @CFIRWIN3 @CFMNINJAA @DrumManTX and many others all immediately come to mind as classy, and well respected Bloo supporters, who show love to all including our beloved Devils. No doubt in my mind regardless of placement tonight and whoever wins, they will venture over to the BD thread and show love, let's make sure we are following them in setting the standard, and giving lots of love to Bloo every other corps as well. Lastly BD Nation............Remember, people are watching us. While we root and love the most successful corps in DCI, that means we need to be on our best behavior at all times. Those trolls and haters i mentioned earlier are looking for any reason to slam BD. And if they can't get directly at the performers or staff, they will look for us to act like jerks and sore losers, so they have a reason to show the world why BD shouldn't win and be on top. Don't give them that reason. Remain classy and respectful to all in victory and in defeat. Have a safe and happy finals day.......and DO IT UP BLUECOATS AND DEVILS!!!

I started following the whole season in 2010. My 10th season as a fan and at the end of the decade, this has turned into one of my favorites. From Open Class finals and Spartans championship, to an amazing set of 13th - 25th place performances from Jersey Surf and Pacific Crest among others, to an incredible top twelve, six, and two. Like said above, I hope all corps have their best run tonight. I would like it if certain corps end up in certain placements, but not at the expense of another corps having a bad run in the final day. In 2029 I’m sure I’ll be looking back on so many shows and moments from this season. So sad it’s over tonight, but what an amazing season it has been. Edit - I know it wasn’t Spartans first championship and yet I typed it. 😳

I truly hope every corps crushes their runs. Because it’s zero sum, could be bad for my favs, but I want every MM heading to retreat, knowing they left out there, their absolute, level best. Especially the age-outs..,

that is actually the very definition of discrediting BD's win - lol

No matter what happens tonight let’s all remember that shot of the Knights trumpet player sobbing as he played his last note of the season. If there is anything else tonight that is more memorable than that, you aren’t doing it right.

If people think Jeff Prospiere is playing favorites you’re nuts. There isn’t a judge in the activity I trust more. If BD won drums tonight, they won drums tonight.

I don’t even know what to say about Blue Knights brass show. Lush and beautiful.

Seeing those kids sobbing at the end of the show...screw the scores. Seriously. What a beautiful thing to get to see.

Very quickly from Hawaii... my son (Blue Stars trumpet) called me from the parking lot before he had to get ready for upcoming retreat...utterly jazzed and “on high”. Top comment: “The crowd was insane; cheering for us in spots no one had cheered for us all summer!! Standing os OMG!” My thanks to the audience for making my kid’s night. 🙏🏼

At this point who cares about the final scores - I know I don’t. Time to celebrate the hard work and enjoy the art form for what it is. Scores and medals be dam#ed! So, so happy for all these young people!

If anyone caught the multi cam version during Gabriel's Oboe, the drumline behind the props hyping at the horns made me smile! That's what this is all about!

I wish nothing more than for Blue Stars or Blue Knights to become the next corps to win the gold. They've both put out so many fantastic shows this decade, they are due for a breakthrough

Dear Cadets design team, You can all. Do better.

While it has its flaws, The Cadets members poured everything into that show. The percussion especially is just.....woah. I hope they find their way again competitively, the members deserve a show as amazing as they are.

A special thank you goes out to Chris Green and Fruhauf Uniforms, who were gracious enough to provide me with a spot in their suite to set up and cover the show from. While I had a great seat in the Friends of DCI section, it was very difficult to provide the quality of coverage and photos while sitting in the stadium itself. Back from the final ensemble rehearsal of the 2019 season. The corps is loose and had another great rehearsal. After performing their finest show of the season they all know they have a better one for tonight. They know how good they are... Could be best best Crown music ensemble EVER. They know the crowd LOVES them and they are ready to bring the #cockycrown to Lucas Oil and the crowd to their feet for the final show of the year. Get ready for the run of the year by the best musical ensemble of the year! and... IT'S A DCI FINALS SHOW DAY!!! LET'S GO CROWN!!!

I don't know how the scores will end up tonight, and honestly, I don't care. I hope every corps gives performances that all the MMs can be proud of, no matter what the competitive circumstances. The 2019 DCI season has been amazing and has flown by faster than I ever could have imagined. In fact, I keep thinking the Tour Premiere was just a week ago. It will once again be tough to adjust back to real life after an incredible season, and moreover an incredible decade, of drum corps (at least until the staff changes start rolling out early next month), so I ask everyone watching tonight to soak every moment in, no matter what.

Cavies had an incredible season, I felt very lucky to have seen them on the west coast. Than you Cavies!!!

Oh god. I'm a mess. That ballad run was the best all season.

Boston Crusaders......that is sitting in 6th. Brass and drums have come a long way since June, but that guard......WOW. You cannot take your eyes off of them. They’ll win a championship soon if they keep progressing. I am not sure if this show was as conceptually strong as the last two, but the ability just keeps shooting us. Gino and Collin with that guard staff? You’re bound for a win sooner or later.

It has went by quickly. I had a great time. I know it’s a bittersweet few days for the kids in all the corps who realize that they’ll never do this show again with this group of people. Good luck to everyone. Leave it all out there.
