  1. Jurassic Lancer is much taller in person than he is on DCP.

  2. Ok. Since the tenor of the forum has changed, now is finally the time to do this ... this account this shared by a cabal of 5 to 7 former RAMD users. Primarily myself (not my real name), a bull mastiff, a boxer, a scottish terrier and a pomeranian-yorkie mix. Occasionally the 2 year-old twins logon to check in on the activity and see what's going on with their peers. They really want to create their own accounts but I insist that this is the best way to refrain from getting their hands dirty and sullying their otherwise sunny disposition on band. I feel much better now. Good luck with the firings!

  7. You say it like The Cadets were incredibly successful because they had C2 as a feeder corps. The Cadets had more championships without C2 than they did with C2. Any correlation? Probably not, but its not like they are in new territory. They will get members just like most of the other corps.. through advertising and camps. They will be just fine.

  9. I didn't realize it's so difficult to simply create a new DCP account for yourself. Granted I haven't made one in quite a few years, has the process become extremely stringent and difficult or something? I'm just trying to figure out why anyone would need to share a DCP account

  15. I think this may cross over into about 3 of the current threads here. I am heavily involved with Gold and I am proud of all our "Band Parents" who drove over 9 hours each way to come see their kids band show. This year we had over 20 parents come up to Williamsport, the most support this corps has ever had at finals, They all probably spent at least $500 to come support DCA. So while the overall trend may be lower attendance at finals, Attendance from Gold fans is at an all time high. It has been 13 years since a DCA corps from the North came to visit NC (and people on here still complain about that show) so the parents and marchers have no idea what DCA is and wonder why none of the corps there have every been to Nightbeat. Most of the parents know their kids weren't ready for Carolina Crown and are thrilled to find out there is a cheaper and less time intensive option., We were probably the youngest corps there in member age, but a young corps with lots of enthusiastic parents supporting it is good news for the future of DCA. Since we don't have anyone hanging around to ground these parents in DC tradition, we need all the band parent support we can get, I think the support the kids get from these parents shows up on the field where they put it all out for all the Gold shirts in the stands supporting them,

  17. BOCOOK, GILLIGAN-MARTINEZ RETURN FOR 2020, BONFIGLIO NEW DIRECTOR Created on Sunday, 01 Sep 2019 17:05:37 The Cadets are excited to announce the return of several familiar faces from Cadets history and welcome a few new faces for 2020. Jay Bocook, Jeff Sacktig, April Gilligan-Martinez and many more Cadets greats will rejoin The Cadets in a continuing effort to drive the corps towards the future. In addition, Denise Bonfiglio will step into the role of Corps Director bringing decades of experience and knowledge to the corps. "To say we're excited for the 2020 season is an understatement," said Denise. "We've already assembled a great team and we're actively working on the upcoming season. The combined experience and excellence of the group is just outstanding and the future looks bright with what we have in store." Scott Litzenberg, Cadets Corps Director for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, will be taking on a critical, new role for the 2020 season in addition to working with Denise as an advisor for the corps. He will be stepping into a community relations role for YEA! and supporting the directors of all of YEA!ā€™s programs. He will be integral in recruiting new students and ensembles for YEA! programs in addition to managing relationships with current supporters. Part of Scottā€™s role will also include alumni relations for The Cadets, a group near and dear to his heart. ā€œI am excited to see the progress we are making on the Big Three Goals of providing excellent programs, being financially secure, and being a great place to work and volunteer,ā€ said Doug Rutherford, Chairman of the Board of Directors for YEA! ā€œThe Cadets are continuing to build on the foundation of 85 years of history and a dedication to excellence. We are incredibly grateful for the tireless efforts of Scott Litzenberg over the past two seasons. I am glad to know Scott will be with us for the next phase of our journey as we go forward to being The Cadetsā€ Leading the charge with Denise is Ron Lambert, who will be stepping into the role of Assistant Corps Director for The Cadets. Ron served as the Assistant Director for the Boston Crusaders for the last three years and the 2020 season marks his 36th year in the activity. He is entering his 16th year as the Director of Bands and is the Fine Arts Department Chair for Lakewood Ranch High School. A former member of the Illiana Lancers and The Cavaliers, Ron has also served as an instructor and arranger for band programs and drum corps around the country. He is a 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Best and Brightest Teacher Scholarship Award recipient and is a GRAMMY nominee, finishing as a quarterfinalist for the 2017 GRAMMY Educators Award.

  24. Tonight, Cadets better be announcing their 2020 production as Volume 3 or I'm going to be severely disgruntled. It's not too late to make it a trilogy. It's never too late. I do also kinda hope this countdown leads to the announcement of an upcoming announcement. At midnight: "The Cadets are proud to announce that staff announcements will happen in two weeks! Be prepared!"

  25. I think the announcement Iā€™m most anticipating is Blue Starā€™s brass team. They took a gamble on their last brass caption head and it payed off.
