Tell me this is a prank.

I enjoy Bloo Cheese but not blue cheese. I’m more a fan of honey mustard, Parmesan peppercorn, and ranch.😋 Here’s where I would make a connection between Bloo, “Hey Jude” and Cadets. I will remember Bloo In 2019 for years to come, and finishing with the audiences in Allentown and Indy singing is a huge reason for it. Certain great moments create enthusiasm. Cadets have had so many of those great moments: singing Amen after “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” the mock solo in “Elk’s Parade,” “Rocky Point Holiday,” the entire 1984 show, plane propellers, anytime “Appalachian Spring” was performed, and the list could go on, I was captivated. When I watch any of these moments on DVD, I’m carried back in time, but I’m not traveling back in time hoping to see them again. Cadets could create great moments that were innovative at the time and became classics in later years. Hopefully a the current staff will do just that.

Just tried to explain, how musically, in my opinion, Blooo, had the perfect ending to their show in June..was merely expressing my hope that MUSICALLY the Cadets would not sacrifice good music for a GE boost..Bluecoats are one of my favorite corps and arguably could have been DCI champions this year..so that's how they ended up in this discussion ..no shade intended..peace

Jeff - you are usually a straight-shooter, but this is hardly "any" announcement - the staff is caption loaded with top DCI talent and tons of HOFs -- plus the techs announced so far are ridiculous good. So - while I and everyone here seem to be in "wait and see mode" - it's hard not to characterize the staff line up as ridiculously positive

But we don't KNOW that it is accurate so we should probably wait until we KNOW instead of trying to stir the pot.

Look on the bright side. Slow paid is better than no paid, yet feel bad for those expecting $$$

If this is real, it was STUPID to post it on social media. And why is it that everyone seems to find every negative thing to want to post on this forum, as if there isn't enough to worry about?

I spent days in Winston-Salem during 2005 evaluating that site for a possible DCA Championship. Also spent hours with a few local committee members, chatted often with Tom Williams by phone, etc. I’m not aware of the unreliability issues Jeff speaks of. However, that was a single, small-line-up, local event. The promoter/organizer of an actual Championship would be DCA itself who would control most everything with some local help in staffing. Different environment. No doubt in my mind, a Championship there involving 15 additional corps, all the groups, and greater event significance would have been well worth a try. Remember, the present site (Scranton) was only drawing 4500 spectators as it were. Had I been making the official decision, I would have staged the event there, if only for one year. Winston-Salem had “good bones” as they say. Carolina Crown is doing quite well there ever since with Nightbeat.

Fantastic staff changes. Very interested to see what the Cadets bring to the table this coming season.

Well we’re discussing the staff announcement, which we’ve seen. Haven’t seen anyone making competitive predictions or whatever...

And LOS stood and sang “Hey Jude” with Bloo. I like Bloo cheese. And I am not sure why this is popping up in the Cadets 2020 thread.

Getting April back sealed it for me. Every guard she was in charge of was spectacular.

The Alamodome is a little boomy but the city is a lot of fun. I have a great time there. It is hot but it’s a lot less humid than where we live so we aren’t that bothered by it. If you hang on the river walk like we did, it’s shaded by the buildings and trees.

Winston Salem was pretty freakin' awesome as long as they open the near gate for the corps to roll the front ensemble through. But alas....i think that ship has passed. If southern corps can travel up north, I would think northern corps can make it to Atlanta or something similar. Make something happen with JSU and maybe involve Spirit. Alternate every 2 to 4 years.

In a way...it's somewhat refreshing to be in a situation of fighting to improve vs fighting to win. It changes your perspective and makes your goals more approachable and easier to hit. "We want to break 80 by x show" is attainable given a certain talent level. I learned to appreciate small gains much more in my DCA years than in my DCI years.

I have many fans on DCP, But I must say Sutasaurus and Continental are my biggest ones 🙂
