Angry faces and growling in drum corps should be banned. Stoic faces while performing angry and intense music, fine. Faked angry faces doesn't sell me anything.3 points

Overproduction. Yes. Such a good term to describe it. I was watching about five minutes of BOA today (that’s all I could handle). The body contortions adding absolutely nothing to the music other than simultaneous demand, which somehow became a perceived must.... just unwatchable. The soundtrack in the background. The way over the top emoting. It’s hard not to laugh. It’s become so silly.3 points

So hello all. Bush announced their 2020 open house details today. To be held on Sunday, December 1. Not denying I've seen/heard/read things have been a bit messy in Bushland recently, but it sure looks like someone jumped the gun on the obituary 😁2 points

OMG they're bending their knees and twisting! Oh now they're tilting to the left at a 45 degree angle! Love that background track over the speakers....now my chair is vibrating from the overdone goo!! LOVE IT! That tinny horn sound like it's coming out of a 100 foot tunnel!! Love those mics! Oh look fake sobbing from the guard! They are SOOOO talented!!2 points

OMG! The flags are spinning again! OMG! Did you you see that rifle toss? Was that a company front?!? Did that trumpet just nail a high G? Never saw anything like it! Not since the last band, anyway.2 points

Back in 70s there was a corps show in Mechanicsburg PA and an ice cream place few blocks from stadium. One year my buddy went over for ice cream before the show and came back empty handed as place was now a bar... name... Grandpas Growler....1 point

Such as a shift in prop designs to something like this (it's actually not a tunnel but a flat board design.) And most interesting is that the winner of the recent San Antonio BOA regional went counter-trend with no props while they actually did drill!!!1 point

source? Will this be in LOS (huge stadium) or some local smaller venue? Will DCA corps have to practice in Ohio or Kentucky because DCI corps already having booked those few practice fields not already being used by already in session Indiana schools (soccer, football, marching band, field hockey squads) ??? Ditto on the housing arrangements.1 point

I'll have Terri or Fran explain this to you... Growler Jug Description A growler is a glass, ceramic, plastic, or stainless steel bottle used to transport draft beer in the United States, Canada, Australia, Brazil and other countries. They are commonly sold at breweries and brewpubs as a means to sell take-out craft beer. Rarely, beers are bottled in growlers for retail sale. Wikipedia Now you can return to your Flo-charts for armchair adjudicating BOA second day of prelims in LOS from your mancave or homeoffice.1 point

Interesting Development ! Apparently DCI finials weekend will include a Saturday DCA/All Age Show ! How many I-95 Corps could/would make the trip to Indianapolis for what many turn into a Championship (pay day) event ? Expect more info to follow. Regards, STLDRMN1 point

Yes! Wittenberg = Lucas Oil Stadium & Gaudy Over-Produced modern Drum Corps = Indulgences. I shall get my scroll and start working on it.1 point

That is exactly where it is. DCA should seriously look at this location as it would give the southern Corps a fair shake compared to the "short drive" the Mid-Atlantic/Northeast corps have enjoyed for decades. Located near Roanoke, VA so there are many hotels available and it is close to I-81. Less than half hour away from VA-Tech.1 point

“Pit choreography”. You win the thread. You said all that needs to be said in two words.1 point

I'm sorry. I missed all those moves since I've been watching the pit choreography trying to find the next "Anna". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Qjtw_vN0AM1 point

Revamped Cadets Bluecoats -They were Excellent the last two years, Should have won last year. Crown- How do you get the judges to respect your visual program when you march more than almost every top corps? Vanguard- Just one year removed from gold. They can do it again. Cavaliers- When the Cavaliers are good, they scare everyone. Boston- Waiting for them to take that next step. Spirit-This is the year they make finals! Hopefully.1 point

Now you've done it! But, newbies get a one time pass.1 point

well you do have a choice now don't you. Don't you have the same assessment toward DCI? just asking All of 5 min. to make a judgement..WOW you're pretty good I actually don't totally disagree, some shows in all aspects of our activity can be over produced1 point

Absolutely! A lot of visual distraction with body movements and angry face. If it doesn’t fit don’t force it.1 point

I’m looking forward to a “Reformation” in Drum Corps. So many props, so many gimmicks, so much running around sideways (even snares!), so much Pit (how many xylophones & marimbas do you really need?), so much overproduction that it detracts from the overall raw power and visual beauty of the brass ensemble. It doesn’t need to be 1974 again either, but, c’mon, less is more!1 point

well over the years didn't have JD Shaw returning, that's pretty huge and pretty much a guarantee that the music will be very enjoyable.1 point

I am not a PR honk.........but the beauty of 10 captivates me to this day. Not the visual/watching-although that "completes" my appreciation, but simply listening to the flow of expression & precision [top percussion certainly seals the deal!]. So, yes.....let's hope for a direction, & construction of a musical product stimulating the attention surpassing a short-burst mentality.1 point
