You are missed and loved.

I never saw anything official in writing saying that DCA went to DCI to prevent corps from leaving DCA. What I heard from others unofficially and inferred from what was said on here was that DCI would not hold its own ALL AGE championship in competition with DCA. Which is what a lot of the non Northeast corps were pushing for.
Young Fella,
As one grows older, one counts the seconds towards some of those intermissions. Why? Besides the cookie cutter programs, there is that song that Reverah made famous in drum corps,
"the pipes, the pipes are calling..."
Bristol! Man the corps looked forward to that parade like it was a trip to Disney. Always a highlight of the season. (probably better quality recordings of them playing the piece but none more fun).
I will say that I know more percussionists who can muddle through a brass book (myself included) than brass cats who can read a percussion book and get what's going on. I'm sure there are plenty who can do both but reading notes doesn't always mean you "get it." I've also noticed that most "drum guys and girls" really appreciate brass books. You'll usually find me at as many brass arcs as percussion arcs at Atlanta.
They did. Parades were my absolute LEAST favorite things of all marching experience (especially Disney.) I would, to this very day (at 47 years old,) track for 4 continuous hours than to march a 1 mile parade.
The person who posted the video didn't indicate the date of the rehearsal. I think this is early season as there are a few differences in musical passages although the drill looks very much like finals. The hornline still seems to be getting comfortable with the difficult book they were given.
I love the opener and closer. This is Phantom being modern yet still staying true to their roots.
It’s interesting. Star of Indiana and its founder Bill Cook did make major contributions on and off the field. On the one hand, Star’s model of being fiscally responsible was ahead of its time. On the other hand, they did set the precedent if you want to win, it will cost you.
The only thing I heard at camp was they will have over 3 minutes of music after the next camp in 3 weeks. They did learn a classic Phillip Bliss song though. Sounded really good...not part of the show though. The new brass staff is very impressive and the new brass caption head is the real deal. Clear to see why the Bluecoats were so good under his direction.
It is a shame this thread is called "Cadets 2020," Cadets just had a camp this past weekend, some people like @dansattended the camp, and instead of actually talking about the camp, the new staff, the possibilities of this upcoming season, etc., we are STUCK on BS from the past. Come back to the future. PLEASE.
I've been vocal about my disdain for the cheesier of the guard design elements of this show, but the coordination of this show is miles ahead of what the corps has been designing lately. I listen to it pretty regularly.
And I'm overjoyed that the 2015 drill designer, Jeremy Hunt, is returning. He wrote for Leander, 5th place at BOA finals. And he wrote for the two bands that finished 1st and 2nd in class AAA at BOA grand nats: Leander and James Madison HS in Virginia. HUGE
