Please. Cadets had an issue, the director is gone. They got a new staff, people still think it's not good enough. They change the staff for 2020, STILL not good enough. They leave YEA, STILL not good enough. People on here were CLAMORING for Cadets to give some sort of update. They give an update, people STILL are not satisfied. Save me the credibility bullsh@t because with some people, it doesn't matter. Additionally, if you're relying on posts from people who have no affiliation with the 2020 Cadets for "credibility," then you REALLY don't want the answers you claim to be seeking.7 points

The great Bill Hayes has passed. After serving as an Air Corps turret gunner in WWII and earning 4 bronze stars, he completed his music degree, became the first "Cherry Pink" soloist in the Caballeros, and taught both music and drill to dozens of the finest drum corps in the country. If you ever marched in this activity, you either learned from him, someone else who had, or one of their students. We all carry Bill's Drum Corps DNA to some degree. He was the personification of "The Greatest Generation", in every sense of the word. Details: https://tilghmanfh.com/tribute/details/1343/William-Hayes-Jr/obituary.html#content-start4 points

I wish the Cadets well in their new independance. I'm willing to donate some $$ IF THEY ASK!!! And no I don't want to see them go under. That is the last thing this activity needs. They have 10 DCI titles...second only to BD!!!!2 points

Quite the opposite actually this is a discussion forum and his post was perfectly reasonable, no one is going off the deep end.2 points

Since that is the original Cadets FB Group, renamed by GH as the owner, I bet most of the people have no idea they are on it.1 point

Not quite, MACBDA isn't just bands from Wisconsin, it also has units from Canada and other drum corps like Shadow participating still in exhibition. The larger issue was around the loss of our Chicago lodging relationship that made travel more difficult and doubled the cost.1 point

and bands did pull out. TOB had to break NJ into 3 regions from 2, Cavalcade picked up groups in Eastern PA, and NJ and MD have new circuits1 point

Where did anyone say you want Cadets to fold? Or what part is over the top? Or what the heck is your âpointâ anyway?1 point

So you figured out that your organization is not a band from Wisconsin and that saved 3k! Okay fine!1 point

It's like some people here won't be satisfied until Cadets fold. They provide information and some people are still questioning their decisions instead of letting the pieces fall into place. There is just no pleasing some people.1 point

For several years. Ron Lambert, prior to his current position with Cadets was with Boston as Asst. Director for at least a couple of years. He was the LR connection/contact as Band Director. A great guy and Cadets are lucky to have him. Best wishes to him and Cadets.1 point

The inverse seems more likely to me. YEA first and foremost was The Cadets, this move is almost certainly being made to keep the rest of YEA from dragging down The Cadets rather than vice versa.1 point

Iâm excited to hear their music this year. I like Will Pitts but never thought his arrangements were right for Phantom.1 point
