At $5000, it is cheaper to commit indecent assault than marching Drum Corps.5 points

When we’d drive to DC rehearsal in the 70’s, there was always drama in the car. Teenagers and bf/gf drama. One guy had a little tape player and when the drama started, he’d play the Perry Mason theme music.4 points

Absolutely agree. In the case you quoted in your reply, however, a background check would not have "caught" anything. It does not appear the guy was ever legally convicted of anything, unless I misread the original post.3 points
-
One victim said it was not in her best interest to move forward with the case, so that may have played a role from the prosecution side of things and the plea deal. And as you said, the other victim said she was OK with the plea deal.3 points

how cavalier(no pun intended) that you feel it perfectly fine to resume normalcy..have members of your family died from covid?..It's great that your genetics have left you and yours virtually immune, but not all of us are so fortunate..NYC suffered a great deal and people who were NOT fat and out of shape or 55+ also died.3 points

These comments are great. Reminded me of the overly dramatic "Perry Mason" moments from the series Perry Mason. Check out the dramatic "over-acted" scene @1:20. It's great!2 points

If he tries to stay involved in the activity, the point of sale will be continually reminded of what he did and how people see him.2 points

I’m no legal expert but if the judge found him so disgusting and was so angry, couldn’t he have overturned the plea deal and sentence himself? Nice to know that nothing much has changed in 50 + years. #metoo my ###.2 points

His latest meme quote from his Facebook page: "I used to feel like my side of the story needed to be told to keep the facts right. Now I don't care what you choose to believe." I guess the Max Lucado influence is wearing off?2 points

I would think he has no chance anyway. I guess we will now move into the Civil Law phase - he is already suing YEA for wrongful termination. Perhaps the victims will counter-sue.2 points

Indecent assault is a Tier 1 offense, requires 15 years on the list2 points

Well there is living with it and living with it safely and with common sense. Too many out there not taking precautions and insulting or verbally going after those who do. As for anti CV vaxxers. More and more I see the problem isn’t being anti-vaccination but fear the first one out of the gate might have been rushed. Having lived with someone who was in the small percentage of people with side affects with certain meds that is on my mind2 points

.....doesn't happen, is that it for Drum Corps? 2 years without competitions has got to be rough for the corps in DCI and DCA to stay in business.1 point

He seems to still have some fans, friends, & family on Facebook with "likes" on certain post. But about 10% were angry emojis. 😡1 point

Exactly. Someone right now is sitting there thinking how they can figure out how to hire a PR firm to handle getting GH on board in some capacity. Rather its writing drill, being a consultant or something. Because you know. GH is good for summer marching bands. Rolls Eyes.1 point

You're funny. Yeah what you see on TV is very different from reality. There are no "ah ha" surprise witnesses No old beautiful smoky court rooms. Most look like large office rooms with low ceiling lights and vents. There are procedures before trial and after trial and discovery. Meaning all evidence on both sides have to be shared before a trial begins. It's actually quiet boring from TV law shows.1 point

He's gone and he ain't coming back. Ever. Rejoice that the old YEA properties are now under new leadership and can forge their own paths independently, without all his BS. 😁1 point

Kids all over the country are going back to school. I see sports teams playing. Talking with a school district that I am familiar with they will not be against housing corps once again when tours start back up. If I was fat and out of shape, with some type of health condition or above the age of 55 then I would really worry. I have already had it and it was for me not as bad as the flu. I have only had the real flu once in my life and it was horrible. I remember back in 2016 my daughters school was closed for 2 weeks due to a flu outbreak. It seems like American's are coming around and realizing that we will have to live with this virus around us. But it also looks like the antivax crowd is gaining members daily when it comes to the 19 vaccine.1 point

TOB's virtual is gaining steam. it gives the kids a chance to perform, and get feedback. No scores, but it's been well received1 point

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.... Statewide Indiana is at a 3.9 % positivity rate. As of Saturday 9 /26, places can open at full capacity, including large gatherings. August 2021 is a long way away, but barring the unexpected there would be no state-mandated reason DCI couldn't happen. 2 caveats - 1) cities can set their own guidelines, though the Indy mayor just got sued by a bunch of business owners. It would not be in his interest to be on an island from surrounding communities, though that's been the situation; and 2) after the destruction of riots/protests in June, plus the aforementioned mayor allowing the homeless to crap in the streets like San Francisco, I'm not sure DCI really would want to have Finals back in Indy regardless of whatever sweetheart deal they have. The city of Indianapolis has changed since August 2019, and not in a good way.1 point

If kids are being allowed an opportunity, any opportunity, to perform and compete, even if it's not the most ideal of circumstances, I'm all for it. JMHO1 point

I have never used the emoticon (until this post). If I did, it would be for someone who did not understand that I was joking, and thus required multiple tries to convince them.1 point
