  1. Dance.....I'm truly sorry you feel that way. I sincerely hope you and the ones you love are not affected by what is going on in the same way so many others have been affected. Death knows no political affiliation.

  2. I forgot to tell the story I referenced earlier about my own direct contribution to the BD show design. It was my first day in the area. I moved up in January, and Mike Moxley picked me up at the airport and put me up at his place that night. That evening was the first staff meeting to talk drill -- at Mike's place. I was told i could sit in and watch, but not to get involved (understandable, since i was SUCH a rookie). So they're going over the opener, Bacchinalia, and discussing the first halt in the show (right before what ended up being my camera pass). Remember that a Bacchinalia was depicted as a Roman orgy at the time. The drill was originally expanding into that halt, but Mike also had said that everyone was coming to the orgy. Mike sees me looking at the drill chart with an intense look and asks "Are you bursting with creativity?" "Well, yeah, Mike....if everyone's coming to the orgy, shouldn't the form be coming together?" And THAT is how the first halt came about, with the forms coming together. My one direct influence onto the drill! Again....the staff of a 5-time world champ corps listened to the idea of a rank amateur who hadn't even learned how to march a slide yet...took it seriously...and incorporated it into the show. That gives you a lot of confidence in the staff.

  5. i apologize if i seem like i am piling on, i have tried very hard to stay out of these discussions all year because in the end, it breaks down to ones political viewpoints or how someone perceives your viewpoints. i am independent, i left the republican party 5 years ago, and have zero desire to join the democratic party. I am the common sense party mentally, because for all those saying masks, you have just as vocal a group saying no masks open everything up, and as of yesterday the highest new number of cases registered in a day since July. So obviously, especially with pandemic fatigue setting in for many people....they are not following the guidelines and boom. science isn't 100% exact. But Sturgis has been linked to many cases in the upper midwest...the great White House super spreader event.....it seems to me the proof is easily detected scientifically as to which viewpoint is losing the battle. Hint...it ain't masks. if it were up to me, those caught willingly spreading it with zero disregard for others would get the chair.....so not so liberal a viewpoint here eh?

  6. Do they allow internet access in jail. Is there a purpose to this or you just bored and trying to stir up crap. Asking because if just stirring up I’m done

  7. Vaccine is Science. All the other stuff is pretty clear here. No problem with the numbers just how the pile on is done. Here you go Masks are not 100% prevention against the corona virus. People can chose not to wear it and that will happen.

  8. I have seen some interesting masks. Do people wear them in your area while out walking the dog or going for a stroll? They don't do that where I'm located but I have seen plenty wearing a mask while driving a car alone. Not exactly sure what that is about. Quick Q . Now that DCI will not be back do you think the pageantry leach's will find new places to stick onto? I would say they would all become band directors but those will be a thing of the past also. Who knew the fine arts would pay so little????? and then to have that all taken away.

  9. Mask's were originally no help as told by Science ------- now they are. It does seem that it offers help against the spread. There will be studies to follow that will prove or disprove. Science is always changing. lock down for 15 days to slow the spread. Actually a month Actually two months no wait three months four? Until there's a vaccine. Never mind actually we can't trust the vaccine. Vaccine is Science - but you don't trust vaccine due to Science only matters if it fits my narrative. If it was a different narrative it would be all aboard the vaccine train. Same way with the economy because you really don't want things to open up until that narrative fits yours. Just look at the pile on mentality at work here when someone does not agree with the "majority". Keep coming up with these real life stories though.

  13. The issue concerning science & Covid is a variation of Schopenhauer's Law of Entropy (If you put a spoonful of wine in a barrel full of sewage, you get sewage. If you put a spoonful of sewage in a barrel full of wine, you get sewage). Politics has come in contact with some of the science. And politics ruins everything it touches.

  14. Around here we see every imaginable fabric worn as a protective mask and in so many creative ways too! Wouldn’t one think that only a specific type of mask be worn? Stephan calls mask a symbol of fear. It’s not about the mask it’s about the symbol it represents.

  16. 85% of infected people were wearing a mask. Are they idiots as well. There is no conclusive evidence that wearing a piece of cloth over your face stops the virus. There is proof however that wearing a mask does affect your respiratory system in a negative way.

  19. That’s why I loved giving reports of bad news (testing or creating a new system) when it was someone who knew me. “The last report you gave sounded pretty good, why is it bad news all of a sudden”. ”Well we got a chance to really try things and.. the stuff/crap/#### doesn’t work as advertised” or “doesn’t work like we thought it would”. Really a big issue last few years with a laptop app and multiple versions of WinBlows out there. Really blows up the all computers are the same mindset. In fighting CV it’s all people are not the same.

  20. I've read that the Polio vaccine initially caused issues. There were problems with some of the initial production. More details can be found in this link. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1383764/ It did lead to improved safety protocols. It was a while ago and since then I'm not aware of other issues with vaccine's but that's not saying there haven't been any. There have been issues with drugs that were developed (ie. Thalidomide) but everything that was learned from issues is often incorporated into subsequent development and protocols. I trust my government's recommendations on what is safe and will get the vaccine as soon as possible once they give the go-ahead. They have already confirmed it will be free for all Canadians when available. One advantage of where we currently are is that there are several companies working on producing a vaccine. What worries me is that effort needs to be on the effectiveness as opposed to the potential profit.

  27. Let’s start with the vaccine... when medical people say it is good to go I’ll believe it. When anyone medical or not gives a date when it will be ready I won’t believe (too many unknowns to determine a set date). And when I see non medical people trying to set or change the parameters to use to determine safety my BS detector goes up. who the hell says they don’t want the economy to reopen. Disagreeing on how to do it safely is NOT saying it should not reopen As for piling on... you give your option and we give ours. Not our fault if the sides aren’t evenly matched... You never had this happen before outside of DCP?

  30. Working IT for 40 (puke) years I understand the idea of ideas change as more information is found, or found to be incorrect. Not pointing this at Dan but too many think health professionals are wrong or part of the conspiracy if they change any recommendation. For me just too many times of going through “that’s not what you said last time”... “well we looked more and crap changed since last time”....

  32. I had this discussion with an ID doctor recently. Having to deal with someone on their 4th covid test in a covid unit I had several opportunities . Anyway, he said we do not know long term effects BUT he did say there could be several. He also said those who are young getting this could see other severe conditions as they age . I said well we all get things aging , he said yes but this could accelerate and complicate things quite a bit. Alot unknown and I'm sure will change as time goes on. This is something that I'm very sure will be talked about and studied for decades to come.

  34. Seat belts have also been know to do damage, the point is wear the darn thing or ticket. For it saves lives. People look to example and as some might think its a sign of weakness one can also look at it as a sign of responsibility, a sign of adult thinking and not some crazy symbol of manhood or macho or a right. Usually those who feel its a sign of weakness especially of manhood ( and I do know a few of them )are just trying to prove they are something they aren't anyway.

  35. Dumbest one I ever saw was crocheted. Talk about big tailed holes over mouth. That and people can’t get the idea that they do breathe thru the nose so that needs to be covered too. If people won’t mask at least they should distance but too many around here are doing neither. Figure if it cuts down the chances of passing it to my family and friends, what’s the heartburn? And I don’t get the symbol of fear BS. I’m wearing it to try to protect people and mature enough not to give a flying #### what anyone thinks.

  40. Nope no where is OK. But everywhere needs to get back to living, working, etc. Everyone need to open up. High risk folks no , they should continue to work from home and limit contact. But shutdowns do not stop the virus. Look at parts of Europe and what they are doing. Their cases are on the rise and they are going to destroy their economy again. Why is Asia doing so well? Yes there will be times to close schools if the disease spreads. Just like the flu every year shuts schools down. Common sense Hygiene and yup mask's for the sick and vulnerable and while in closed in spaces for all.
