  1. The money part is fairly recent...her 2014 Bluecoats reaction was the first one (which I paid for)...and not all of them are paid ones. She had a ton of vids before '14 Bloo that were just from suggestions in the comments sections. She has 62K subscriber and 503 vids at this time. Her most popular DCI vid is the 2017 BD one, #41 on her list if ordered by # of views. Most of the corps vids are low view counts, relative to the sports or military ones. She's not making tons of money off her channel, if she's even monetized it....she views needed to live off it aren't there,,,,she isn't PewdiPie.

  2. I can only answer the questions he asks, not the unstated "objectives" you impose on them. If you have an "objective" you want me to speak to, state it. Oh, that is a whole different question. I know that an unabridged list of "sick days" at the full corps level is way beyond my memory alone. A few that spring to mind: 2015 Cavaliers were a singular instance I recall, in that the stomach virus or whatever it was impacted the corps for several weeks. They dropped out of a few shows, and downgraded to exhibition status at least one other time due to over a dozen absences from the ranks. Late in the 2019 season, Genesis pulled out of one show due to illness, and Troopers did the same at another show a couple of days later. Academy withdrew from one of the Texas shows in 2018 on account of illness. Phantom Regiment missed a show very late in the 2016 season due to illness. 2009 was a rough year, as upper respiratory viruses impacted several corps (Carolina Crown, Mandarins, Glassmen) badly enough to cause each of them to take a unit sick day on a scheduled contest day. My memory says Blue Stars missed a show for illness at some point in the past dozen years, but not recalling when. This sort of thing happened in earlier years as well, but the details escape me.

  3. All that caffeine and yet you are still so patient.

  4. Your patience is amazing. Do you work at target? Are you a jet?

  5. I think your objective was understood. We live in strange times. We use the past as reference to understanding the instability of the present.

  6. Like what? (Sincere question. Jeff said many things... not sure which you refer to.)

  7. What are you insinuating? Oh, is that it? Well then, you lost me. Somehow, my response to a question is trying to prove something wrong? You cannot prove a question wrong.

  8. Jeff Ream brought up some very good points about the ramification of the current situation in other threads.

  9. I actually have a YouTube channel that specializes in watching the reaction of people eating lime flavored Jello. Some of the reactions are quite funny and many of them are clearly fake as you see people putting all sorts of stuff in the Jello that tends to affect the purity of the flavor. I got a very good grade on that part of my studies.

  10. i believe that I have read that the 1955 VFW Nationals in Boston were affected by corps deciding not to travel to Boston because of fears of polio. There were only 11 corps in junior corps prelims, most of them from Massachusetts.

  11. Sure. Happens all the time. Shows have been stopped due to lightning in close proximity to the show venue. Shows have been relocated indoors or changed to standstills due to wet conditions making maneuvering dangerous for the participants. More violent weather, such as an approaching tornado, has caused outright cancellation of the remainder of events already in progress. IIRC, excessive heat may have caused a contest to be altered to a concert. Most contests in the early 1940s were cancelled due to the health threat posed by an axis of evil and their worldwide warfare.

  12. Do you think she isn't impressed with what she sees? We are all impressed. We have always been impressed. Ever bring a rookie viewer to a show and had them blown away by what they saw?

  13. No. I’ve never understood the appeal of any “reaction” video, because they never seem authentic to me.

  17. Possibly, but that state is no slouch for future professional and world level athletes.

  18. Skyliners at a rehearsal in the 80s(?) also. One killed and couple of members hurt pretty badly. They didn’t compete early part of the season. Saw them do a standstill at Hershey and a few were still limping. 1975 had a local HS band member killed by lightning. Remember it because last rehearsal before we left for DCA a bad storm hit. Our horn instructor was a local HS band director so he opened up the band room for us to hunker down. Horrible loud thunder and couple of members looking green (they might have been members of the band). We didn’t even talk about the show, just waited until it was over and left.

  19. Back in 71, we (Cadets) were performing at a show in Northbrook, Ill. We stayed at a HS nearby where we rehearsed and slept...and ate. Somehow, a good portion of the corps got some kind of bug or food poisoning. The football field at the HS was (seemingly) about 2 miles from the school and BATHROOMS. There was a constant stream of members running back and forth from the field to the school all day long. It was not a sight to behold, for sure!

  20. Must have read this somewhere (History of DC book?) as polio and AL was in the back of my mind. Will have to check further but good starting point. Thank you.... note to self: most complete VFW results are in HODC Vol 1 and not the 2 websites I usually check 😫

  22. As expected, the replies are weather related. Perhaps not wanting to die from lightning and tornadoes is considered "health" as in "I do not want to die from being flung off the field when an F5 Tornado barrels through the stadium." Corps have had ailments go through on multiple occasions. I think they have dealt with them well. But with Covid-19 the ramifications are much more complicated.
