  1. The logistics and expense requirements of a short season in 2021 will make things worse financially. Corps need attendance to make it work. We are about to go through a winter of hell. JMO.

  2. If there’s no season in 2021 you can stick a fork in the activity- there won’t be enough corps left to have a meaningful tour imo we will end up with a short 30-45 day tour with outdoor shows with limited capacity JMO

  3. Once the great reset is completed we will see who is left. Regardless those naughty little Devils will be the front runners again taking all the toys back to Cali.

  4. ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY... On November 13th, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence. That request came from his wife. Deep down, he knew she was right; but he also knew that one day he would return to her. (cue theme music) LOL Sorry.... I had to.

  5. Hate to say it but this is my guess. Some people talk as if DCI will be able to determine if there will be a season or not. Just too much that is out of DCIs control be it legal or logistics.

  7. No way that will happen! Too many restrictions state-by-state.

  8. If this years season is lost to covid it will be the end for some drum corps. In Kansas, Schools in the suburbs have been in person since the start of the season. Only Kansas City schools have waited to open in person. There have been some hiccups but nothing like what was predicted on spreading the disease.

  10. One of my favorite “bus stories” while in an Alumni corps. As told by an ex Pittsburgh Rocket: “So we’re leaving town to go to a show but our bus turns off the highway and heads into a suburb. There’s one of our guys standing on the corner with his horn and uniform. Couldn’t figure it out until I heard. “Thought your wife wasn’t going to let you be with us this weekend” “oh bleep her, she thinks I went out for the paper.”” 😬

  11. This subject is absolutely on topic. Many a man back then was unceremoniously evicted by his wife, significant other, friends and/or family for grievances related to his obsession with drum corps. I don't know where Felix marched, but his over-the-top OCD fastidiousness would have been SOP in many a corps. Just consider some of the now quaint and outdated elements of the activity in those halcyon times: Inspection, Tics, FM 22-5 Drill and Ceremonies requirements, silence on the field, tempo restrictions, flag code...etc. Felix Unger's personality was perfectly suited to drum corps, neurotic to a fault. 'Scuse me while I go polish my white bucks.

  12. In real life, Tony Randall stayed married for over 50 years until his wife died. Then when he was 75 he married a 25 year old and then had 2 kids.
