  3. There are three other marching reaction video sources I enjoy: Adam Tan (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCb1UI8X57325r8zS1fI7uUw) - A percussionist and composer from Australia who hosts a regular show on YouTube. One of his segments is "Let's Watch" where he checks out and reacts to videos submitted by his audience. Some time ago, somebody submitted DCI videos, something Adam had never seen before because there is absolutely no marching activities in Australia. Adam got hooked, has been checking out a bunch of other videos submitted to him, and has talked about coming to DCI and possibly checking out BOA since it takes place during the same time as PASIC in Indy. Funliner Productions (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAvzRkdZUrZgoo4-4yiuzpQ) - A group of drum corps alum who interview other performers, as well as marching videos such as head cams and reaction videos of shows they admire or were a part of. One such video was the head cam of Ben Gunderson, the flugel soloist from 2016 Bluecoats, and included his commentary along with the reaction of the hosts. EMCproductions (https://www.youtube.com/user/underwatrdrummr) - This guy aged out with Carolina Crown in 2010, marched with United Percussion in WGI, and also marched with the Marine D&BC. He likes to do themes like "No Tick November" which celebrates incredibly clean performances (2009 Rhythm X was one such show, in fact), and also extends to some fun concepts such as learning the solos which beat him at I&E. 😄

  4. I like her. She has found her reaction video fans which is drumcorp fans. So many reaction videos on YouTube so it's hard to separate one from another. I actually think she likes what she sees and makes some $$ from her likes and viewers.

  5. Jersey Surf: "Local Operations Are The Focus of 2021 Season Plan" "With stringent COVID-19 protocols in our state and the neighboring states in which the preponderance of our members, staff and volunteers reside, the Jersey Surf Board of Directors will focus all 2021 programming on local activities exclusively. As such, the organization will not produce a traditional touring World Class Drum Corps for the 2021 season. "'We have a number of exciting programs ready to deploy once the environment allows,' said Jersey Surf CEO Bob Jacobs. 'Our priority for 2021 is to get the greatest possible number of people involved in performing opportunities at the lowest possible cost… if and only if it is unquestionably safe to do so.' "Additional information will be available in the new year." https://jerseysurf.org/news/local-operations-are-the-focus-of-2021-season-plan/

  6. So many are sharing, so I though I would do the same. I have been working for the past two months on a Christmas Carol Hymn-Sing for my church. Since my choirs can't rehearse, we were unable to perform are annual Christmas cantata this year. I decided I would do some writing and gathered some very strong student musicians to play my arrangements of a few Christmas Carols and build a service based "loosely" on "The Lessons & Carols" as originally designed many years ago by Kings College. As has been my practice, I got another test late last week and received another negative result. We had our final rehearsal Saturday afternoon in preparation for the service yesterday. A few hours after I got home, the wife got a "positive" result. Under the abundance of caution, I had to cancel myself and all of the musicians. I felt terrible for the students. They worked very hard and sounded lovely. The service was able to go on without me. The structure was there and the hymns were able to be sung with standard hymnal arrangements. A simple lesson here based on my OP "Who's In and Who's Out?" that you can plan to be "in" and within 24 hours of the performance, be "out" with this virus. So please be safe. Yes, I will be testing a few more times over the next couple weeks and we are following all quarantine protocols.
