  1. Is $3,400 alot of money? It sure is (under any circumstances). It breaks down to approximately $75.55 per day for: housing, transportation, 4 meals (per day), instrument and uniform use/"rental", instruction, experience and pandemic related costs. When looking at it this way, $3400 seems reasonable.

  2. For some comparison, the Maine jazz camp charges high school kids $1900 for ONE WEEK. Living in dorms, eating campus food, no travel at all, and one final performance at week's end for a hundred or so parents and spectators. So, I think the Blue Stars fees are reasonable.

  3. I think that I can speak for us all when I say that I hope that things can work out before the summer - because we all want to see a season occur, but we also all know the milestones that will have to be reached before that can realistically happen. There is so much planning and financial resources that have to be put into this before anything could even dream of getting off of the ground. It is possible though. If there is a will there is a way.

  4. Totally agree with you. I think Jude was the one that handled the guard design or was caption head in 2003. Talented designer but I think having a fresh visual take would be refreshing to see. Loved listening to the show, but visual was just so-so. They came out west that year so I have fond memories going to see their practices and shows in CA, CO and NM.

  5. From Spirit of Atlanta's website: We are working hard to keep tuition as low as possible this year. In a normal year, our membership tuition is around $4,500. Once we are able to put some plans in place and perform a cost analysis, we will update this FAQ with that information. The main unknown factor is what our pre-season and spring training programs will look like and our access to safe, cost-effective housing for the summer tour.

  6. There's quite the significant difference. I'd imagine most individuals would have a hard time administering something between (inter) muscles. As you can imagine, it is a lot easier to administer within (intra) a muscle.

  7. My apologies if this thread has already been created...I took only a quick peek... In the meantime...ALL of the corps REALLY need your support right now. I just ordered my shirt in support...among others as well... Show your support of the Boston Crusaders

  8. SO far the only corps I've seen that has pledged to keep dues down are Blue Knights.

  9. Some haven't posted announcements but they have the information on their websites. Others i've been told(or shown). You also have to realize the cost is going up because of all the covid requirements(extra rooms, supplies etc). Blue Stars have said that amount is their total charge. A lot of corps are going to give you a smaller number, then add on all kind of fees, etc. Not trying to argue either, simply too lazy to go through emails, websites, text etc and compile the information here. I will say there is an open class corps that has advertised on their website dues that are almost the same amount...

  10. This plan by the Blue Stars seems reasonable and realistic to me. I wish them the best!

  11. Sure do. Used to work there. I posted a link to what I think is the only corps who has posted a specific dollar amount on their website. Since you chimed in quickly, I thought maybe you'd be able to link to show that other corps are stating the same. This is also the first time I'm seeing a specific date range or a "tour". DCI hasn't announced a tour. I'm not trying to argue, but one corps (Blue Stars) made their dues information readily available. $3,400 for 45 days seems exorbitant. Thus, my shock that other corps are charging the same.

  12. I'm excited because it will be a better visual design as well. Color guard has evolved a lot since then.

  13. And so it begins. I have created a public list on YouTube that will include all source music. This is a public list under the name "Drum Corps 2021" for all to use. I will do the same on Rhapsody/Napster.

  15. Not concerned at all with Cappybara's correction on the term. It's what he studied.

  16. Ah it has been forever since I last said anything in this place. I think it is time I start popping up again. I personally can't wait to hear the sound of that signature Crown Bb Major chord ringing in my ears again. 😆
